Just got back from Big Town - hell that was a mistake. I rarely venture there for shopping type stuff and each time I do I remember why............

T*sco was a flippin nightmare - 1st Dec must be panic buying day for Christmas. - and of course they had their 3 for 2 offer on toys........think there should have been a health warning in the car park for that one ! I much prefer the early morning slot but couldnt make it today.
So I scratched the noses of some hacked off looking reindeer ( I have experience in this area!) dropped 50p into the bucket of the first of the local village brass bands to play this 'happy season', listenined to cheesy Christmas music when all I wanted was cat food, bread and some other unintersting basics and donated on the way out to the food bank collecting in already full to capacity entrance - had the trolley from hell and a rather unpleasant encounter with a stuck up pharmacist - so have I been imbued with Christmas Cheer'? Err..no - still feel the same: an awful lot of people out there being led by the nose believing they have to spends hundreds with the supermarkets in order to have a Happy Christmas......its not bah humbug I love Christmas just hate all the commercial clap trap

Finally bought something for Christmas - not that we have loads to buy but I am usually more organised than this. Not feeling very festive.

I have discovered a bully in the 'person in charge' and they are making my life a misery. Senior managers not interested as that they think the sun shines out of every orifice and all the 'atmosphere' is of my own making. I dont use the term 'bully' lightly not even in my line of work, but I have never felt so intimidated, deskilled, under valued and made to look stupid in 25 years of working in what is a pressured and stressful job at the best of times. Thankfully my immediate colleagues agree with me but the entourage that surrounds the person in charge is making life very difficult

Didn't want to read and run but don't really know what to say other than it seems to be common behaviour across all kind of trades/business at the moment. People seem to think they can behave how they like as people should just be pleased to have a job.

    Hi there

Sorry to hear its not improving much for you Igamogam and that it's making you feel so under par. Here's a hug for you :grouphug::grouphug: ( well 2 actually! :D) hope it gets better before the end of term

I understand what you mean jazee about the'youre lucky if u have a job/ full time contract/permanent contract ( delete as appropriate)...increasingly prevalent I am afraid. Also it's the better people who, in my humble opinion, get stressed and more affected by it...the poor performers just carry on taking the cash and not even 'hearing' the comments... 'Flogging the willing workers' I call it!

Hope you get some sunshine and fresh air this weekend

Well it went to the wire...................last 3 weeks has been hell at work - the worst in 25 years of doing this job. Buy I am glad to report I scored a minor victory and got the senior managers to do the job they are paid for - the idiot in charge tried their very best to push me out but in the end a strongly worded letter, support from the team I lead and a bloody great big LBM from the senior management team when they realised the depth of feeling I can continue the job I love in the place that I want:D I am sure there will be some changes - well there has to be but the moral victory is mine and having not felt like Christmas at all I am now full of festive energy:xmastree:

Wont be back here until after Christmas so Merry Christmas all lurkers and posters.

Well we survived.................the release of stress can sometimes be just as destructive as the stress itself...........but Christmas 2012 has now passed and cleared away.....no we still have the tree up and lots of weird food and chocolate to eat but I now feel I can turn my thoughts to other things for a while. Will make my usual update on the first post once the ducks are lined up:)
