    Well, well, well Igamogam. :D
I always thought you were one of the people on here with 40, 50, 60k of debt. No idea why I thought this, I just did.
In my mind you've just dropped between 20 and 40k of debt.
    So well done! :T:T:T

Thanks for that Igamogam! (Perhaps someone will post the recipe for knitted yoghurt; then we can all have a go :D ).

oooh lovely bright and breezy morning here - having spent the last week or so developing webbed feet and water proof feathers I think I may just catch up on garden for an hour or so - have some daffs that really need planting out.

Aaah the knit your own yoghurt recipe..............that cam from many years ago when I was expecting my first child and saw the future through hormone induced rose tinted specs. I was convinced that I was going to be the Earth Mother to rival all others:D I was going to float around barefoot in long patch work skirts, bake worthy bread, make fab meals gathered form the hedgerows, gaze down at my gurgling child swathed in hand knits from wool I had spun and hand dyed myself whilst also knitting my own yoghurt as I would explain to my friends........................then DD1 arrived and the reality kicked in:rotfl: OK I picked a few sloes and blackberries and indeed knitted a lot of shop bought wool for my sometimes gurgling daughter................but I failed at being an ultra Earth Mother ( and where I live there is a disproportionation number of them - I am sooo envious of them:)) and I bought a yoghurt maker:p which I made good use of I may add! The only thing I would change now is that I would ask for one on F**gle:rotfl::p:rotfl:

So that was the story of where the phrase knit your own yoghurt came from;)

but I am am not in the brigade that jumps in with I can feed a family of 6 and 3 dogs on £2.76 a week. We knit our own yoghurt and huddle round a tea light for warmth OK so I exaggerate but you know what I mean:) And I am not knocking those ultra frugal people out there - I admire you and probably a teeny bit envious and if there where more of us like that I am sure the world would be a better place.

So impressed! Now that gives me something to aim for. I am wondering what size needles you need...

I have never posted a SOA either. I don't want it ripped to shreds either. I have expenses that the very strict on every penny brigade would not understand. A horse and Sky tv :eek: I've still paid off a lot of debt and, yes, I would be debt free if I didn't have my horse, but a whole lot of love and pleasure would be missing from my life.

  • Hi Igamogam,

I often stop by your diary but i don't always get the chance to post. But i was prompted to reply and say a huge well done to adding up the total owed and putting it down :T:T:T When i started out i wanted to be debt free by the same time the following year - without having any plan as to how this would happen. I knew what i owed to each creditor but it took me some time to add it up and put it down as a total figure. Not sure why really :o

I never posted an SOA either - i think i was relieved when i read the fab hypno's words that she never posted one as it didn't add up - mine was/is the same - less income than essential outgoings. The only thing anyone could pick at on mine would be the high mortgage v income - (made redundant a week after buying my house that needs ALOT of work -income protection insurers didn't as i hadn't started paying it at that point :( And then like so many others find it so hard to find a job - i am working but income is vastly less than it used to be.

Anywho's sorry about the tangent there but i wanted to say well done on adding the figure up and also not to worry about not posting an soa - you know where your money goes each month and thats whats important.

I did find the challenges really helpful (still have debt you'll see but its come down :T) Personally i found the Pay Off as Much as you can challenge run by jwil very helpful. Later i dipped into the make £10 a day challenge. I also tackled the debts in a different order than the recommended one :o i paid off some lower interest lower balance once first to spur me on - it was easier to try and pay off £1000 say than £8000 and with keeping up with minimum payments by the time i got round to the £8000 it had come down. Being able to get 0% transfers was a huge turning point for me as well - no idea how i managed that

Hope you are feeling better now too x

Cat herding has been particularly difficult this week - so short staffed the caretaker stepped in as a dinner lady :) The boys loved it - positive male role model they rarely experience. No time to 'tap out' my debt reduction plan and a busy weekend ahead but not spending and still PADding :)
