Have been doing a lot of thinking in between the just mundane day to day stuff.............. so going back to first principles. By this I mean 'what brought me to MSE and what has kept me here?' Well the debt obviously! Also reading other peoples DF ups and downs, hints and tips, nightmares and triumphs. Certainly I have found commonality, kindred spirits, moments of 'OMG! Me too!' and also tears, laughter and some:mad: However there also some people in some very dark places.....................

So I have started with a 'declutter' of my thread subscriptions. I am sticking with those who I have found truly inspirational, genuinely funny and are full of good old sage advice:D Gone are those I was beginning to worry about. Also I was finding myself spending too much time reading them and this whole lurking thing sometimes feels a bit too voyeuristic:eek:

Work got off to a cracking start..............all my fears about the 'person promoted over me' (PPOM) came to fruition in the first hour:( But have decided to plough my own furrow and take no carp. Good thing is I dont feel threatened here and dont have to walk on eggshells keeping everybody happy, like I did in my last place. I have 2 Lithuanian 4 year old this year with ASD in my bucket this year....should think I will be fit frazzled or *ucked by Christmas.

Have a big money frog to chomp tomorrow..........well today really if you look at the time. Hope I manage it.
Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi :o

  • Hiya, just caught up on your posts. So happy your new work situation was not as bad as expected :j.

Re, dont know if you are any better off. have you aquired more debt ? Have brought your debt down some and would your debt have increased if you had not had you LB moment. Just some food for thought :).

I am worse off, income wise and life is much of a sruggle than it was but my debts are down and no more aquired. So I take that as on the whole I am better off. Hope that makes sense :rotfl:.

Unexpected 2 days at home .....stress levels too high and I couldnt deal with it . Very unlike me. Also will be going into hospital in a couple of weeks for surgery I have been waiting for 3 years for:eek: If there is any hint of a sniffle then they wont do it so cant afford to be ill/under the weather. No guarantees that surgery will sort problem out but I am quite happy to give it a go.

Job with new mad frogs is interesting...in fact rather than keeping a lid on a bucket of frogs its more like herding cats......think about it;)

So in my new role as chief Cat Herder I have yet to get an answer to the question from the Grande Fromage ( who is more of a dairy cheese triangle IYSWIM or as Cat Herder second in command said - a chocolate tea pot :)) When do we get an paper, exercise books, paint, crayons, sand and the small matter of reading books? ( bearing in mind we are an educational establishment.............) 4 weeks in and still no joy. Anyway I stamped my feet on Monday morning and all of a sudden the Big Guns ( also made of chocolate IMO) appeared and a few things happened within the space of an hour - A M A Z I N G. Still no resources though......

So Tuesday evening I felt like shoite, felt I was coming down with a cold and like I have said cant afford to be ill this next 2 weeks. Feel better to day and will be back in work tomorrow to face the music.

On the debt front still head in the sand I am afraid, but at least I am honest. Pay day tomorrow - should bring things into sharp focus again as I pay all the bills in one go at the weekend:(

Oh I am going back to the spending diary...........boring I know but its a start. Have also got into the PADing this week too with a bit more consistency and havent noticed the money going but its made a pleasing difference to one of the CCs :)

Have supply cover at work - there are no permanent jobs being given out so its a string of cover staff which is all very unsettling and all b00dy useless - nice people and well meaning but totally useless - management seem to think its not a problem. The job of herding cats is hard enough without having to direct and constantly redirect people with no umph no initiative and no real desire to be there:mad:

Today I have house to myself and always operate best when I can get on and do things without running the taxi service/thinking about keeping people/animals fed/watered/clean but so far I have done the T*esco Express run at 6am cos had nothing in house to provide DD2 with packed lunch today - she off on a jaunt. Then taken said DD2 to assigned collection point and waited half an hour for stragglers even thought we where told stragglers would be left behind:mad: Then went to PO with some Eb*y parcels, come home and gone back to bed with paper and mooched on Eb*Y and now its almost dinner time and so far nothing really achieved................too much procrastination!

Have been too bloomin busy at work to give finances much thought - other than not spending. Too bloomin busy doing a job 'they' didnt think I was up to ................their preference has been off sick. No phone calls from on high making any enquiries as to how we were coping with 4 staff off and no cover. But yesterday when said sick person turned up looking like death and and no flippin use whatsoever the bl00dy cavalry turn up because I am going into hospital today and will be off for the next 3 weeks so 'they' were making sure the chocolate teapot has enough support:mad: When I go back I will be seeking a conversation with 'them'. Rant over

Whilst I am off I will not be able to do much other than knuckle down to the debt busting plan ......AGAIN:D
