Hope you are feeling better soon, hopefully the long break will work wonders :)
I've started my long break already :T but like you have a few things to tidy up at work this week. Well done on passing your studies:T

Looking forward to getting out more this summer, and try and get a bit fitter....
Have also been toying with idea of massages to help with pain, but after so long of living frugally , finding it hard to actually go ahead and book:rotfl:

I love the camaraderie on here, but there are times when I slip out of posting, RL just gets in the way.

Hello NOA and Brizz - must admit you are my 'go to' threads and not on the cull list:rotfl:
Think its just been a bit of a hamster wheel this :money: malarkey and I just didnt have anything outstanding/inspiring/interesting to say!

Things are getting a bit spendy here too ATM...DD2 and her BF are here for the summer before their 6 month placement in paradise to finish off their degrees........they have to work their little socks off to earn the money to get out there and then possibly well probably some travelling after...........I forget how young lads need to be fed on the hour every hour:rotfl: and until I get into the routine there have been mad dash shops in between the usual weekly one:eek: They are doing their bit and paying their way but they work very long hours doing very strenuous work and I feel obliged to keep them healthy!! After this week I shall be in full Mother Hen Mode so the spendy shops will stop:rotfl::rotfl:

Planning a little trip away myself.....it will be on the CCs which I know is bad but I have decided you only live once:D

Seven weeks off :j.............already been back in work TODAY:mad:"Taking one for the team". Everybody had an excuse not to be there:mad::mad: Anyway all done now although back in on Monday but that is my choice - best time to clear up after the mad frogs and get ready for the next bucket.........and on paper looks like it will be a very large bucket:o:o

Going to be a spendy spendy seven weeks though..........too much to go into here but a bit of a crisis that will need money throwing at it - nothing I cant handle but didnt really need it:( However I feel very calm and in control of it and I am sure that is because of my little spreadsheet and money pots and booger all spending in the first 6 months of this year:money:

Going to hit Eb*y and FB selling with gusto to cushion the effects:rotfl:

    The holidays start................NOW!!

Hope the crisis management goes well Igamogam. Hope you manage to relax and try and forget about work, though i totally get that the time to get things sorted is when others aren't there - sorry to say i've done the same :o
Enjoy the summer break - I love not having to get up at a set time and have already finished two books because I stay in bed reading in the mornings!

Hope the crisis management goes well Igamogam.

Well one week in and so far not a lot achieved other than a complete wind down. No bad thing :)

The crisis is indeed being managed and is doubling up as an unplanned trip away! DD1 is overseas ATM and rang to say she had had an accident....long story short NOTHING life threatening but enough needing repair and emergency treatment and paying for THERE AND THEN:eek: Temporary fix done but long term fix is going to cost a lot more :( Lots of options....anyway got me thinking. Life too short and all that. Never been to the country where she is so booked flights etc and off we go. Too easy and all on CCs:o I will think about it later.......

:money:reccommended travel insurance BTW has turned out to be bl00dy useless.......and I scrutinised the small print:mad::mad: Oh you live and learn!

DD2 and the BF are away visiting friends for 24 hrs.....time to re group. I mean they are no trouble and very low maintenance but they "spread out":rotfl:

Went out last night to meet up with family friend of DD2 BF who are visiting the area - found ourselves in a pub quiz....and won...£20 meal voucher for being overall winners and a bottle of prosecco for bonus question:beer: A bit embarrassing as there were obviously some regulars there:o

Right off to yoga to clear the mind before turning my attention to the house:eek:

Yay to winning quIz...even if you’re not a local :rotfl: but hey that’s tough about your daughter (so glad she’s going to be ok) and rubbish about the insurance. Maybe post a comment to MSE Towers..so that others don’t get caught out.

Hope your holibibs are proving enjoyable and calm ;)

Back from the hols and straight into work tomorrow, jet lagged
I dealt with it fine on way out but on return not great....OH's luggage not making the plane and him having to go to A and E with DVT symptoms hasnt helped...all OK BTW No clots but a telling off from thrombosis nurse ( wouldn't listen to me and he should know better as he flies long haul at least once a year:mad:) and luggage will arrive sometime in week by courier.

It was a spendy but enjoyable time away and much needed. DD1 will return sometime next year - had thought for a while she may stay but although she has enjoyed it financially it is not feasible. So she will apply for dual nationality on return and move to a EU country and put to use what she has been learning there instead.....well thats the plan!!

I am not worrying about the money - we have been uber frugal for 6 months and although our frugality hasnt covered how much it has cost it has certainly off set it. Next it will be a long haul east.... DD2 off for 6-12 months, in a few weeks time. Going to buy OH flight socks for his birthday:rotfl: Not going to enjoy both girls being at far reaches of the globe. So it will be more frugality and continue with hammering down the debt - I would rather reduce the debt than save all the money. I do put some away each month but I am overpaying the CCs as much as poss.

Couple of survey site cash outs and cash back on flights accommodation and care hire that came in whilst away have been welcome:):money:

So September is always a 'new year' for me. If I am honest there is not much I am changing from January. The challenges I set myself then are still working so I will continue - no buying of anything other than food etc unless really needed. Meal planning. Recording all spending and continue the self care - this last one has been the game changer above all else:D

Right off to update spreadsheet....then I might think about tomorrow....or not;)

Glad that spendy August is behind me. Havent assessed the full damage yet but I sense not as bad I first thought. Repairing my broken DD1 after her accident however is costing but hey ho has to be done. small glimmer of light - insurance company may pay up but one piece of documentation they ask for she doesnt have - return air ticket - as she doesn't know exactly when she is returning!

DD2 is getting ready for her travels beginning next month - we have said we would buy her some of the expensive equipment she needs - part of her time away is the final part of her degree course - but she has saved from her student loan and working so visas tickets vaccinations etc all paid for by herself....my DDs are chalk and cheese!

Feel I am back on an even keel - back at work ( feels like I have never been away) back to yoga and fitness/ wellness routine ( boy have I missed it!) back into domestic routines ( same old same old and soooo boring! Going to work on changing this) and right back into MSE ways:D
