Had a morning of meal prepping for the week ahead. "Shopped" from food stores mainly and like the get ahead feeling
Emptied my road kill money box today - usually do it at the end of the year but forgot! About £12 in there which amazes me....I living in a rural location I dont frequent busy places very often so these finds will have been mostly picked up in car parks at supermarkets and very infrequent trips to The Town. So I filled up with various change pots and put the coins I dont save on a regular basis, towards the EF
Sunny day. Going to spend as much time in garden . Winning on the time 'gained'Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Spent a good couple of hours cutting down a huge evergreen honeysuckle which has taken over -actually it brought down a trellis so OH has fixed that too. We pay £33 a year on top of out council tax to have garden waste taken away - I dont mind as we would have to get rid of it some how - saves bonfires and having multiple compost bins - already have 2 and trips to the recycle centre. Large woody stuff we cut and store for log burner. Fill the compost bins with what we can but I am grateful to get rid of the pernicious weeds and other stuff via the council. HOWEVER this year I am going to make sure that we fill the bin for each of the 25 collections we have paid for.........reckon we missed about half a dozen last year and it suddenly dawned on me what a waste!!! So planning the gardening around what needs to go before things really take off. So far this year have cut down a large jasmine that was growing up the outside of the house and had reached to eaves and today it was the turn of the honeysuckle. They will both grow back but now I can keep them in check a little better........thinking of the futureBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Had an email from electricity company - they are putting up monthly DD based on one month estimated reading :mad: almost doubled! Rang them up but they are not budging - we are using a bit more than our DD covers.......based on one month estimated bill UUUURGH! I will suck it up this month but next month I will be right back on at them to reduce it again as we will be in credit! No point in changing supplier as we are on the best tariff for us.
Otherwise spent most of the day in bed with a migraine. Lunch I made for work today will keep for tomorrow so a little saving
Another week to go to payday...........6 weeks since last one because of "early pay for Christmas"Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

I pay for the green waste bins too, and I am ashamed to admit that ours did not go out this morning. It works out at £1 per bin, per collection so it's only good if I actually fill them. Need to focus my head on that so thank you for making me see it.
I have two lovely winterflowering honeysuckles that could do with a good trim. They smell beautiful so it'll be a pleasant job. Had to be done, they are next to regular use paths and starting to take over. Lovely to push past in a dry day, less so when it has rained.
Hope they move on the utilities DD. Frustrating when you know it isn't right. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

The Twit at the Top has removed our well organised and well managed fortnightly work at home days.............. This was put in place by The Idiot in Charge over 5 years ago after much discussion as to why and how we should do it. Proven to improve productivity and reduce stress etc etc. TTATT doesn't buy this and claims "its policy".........we cant find The Policy they speak of........unions involved............I hate this!
Book club tonight and I havent finished the book:o Un written rule if you turn up and haven't read it so be it. we only go along for the cake and natter anyway.........well we do discuss the book but disproportionately to the cake and natter:D Except when we read Maya Anjelou's Mom and Me and Mom - it really vexed us and we hated it!!
On the money front: Have got back into HM lunches this week - much prefer it and saves me £2.10 a day....had just gotten lazy after Christmas! Also 4 days to payday and there is still half my salary in the bank account...........something is working!Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Just catching up Ig. Hope its been a good week and you're still feeling positive about the changes you know you need and want to make. I am trying hard to turn the corner and making looking after my health, 'wealth' and time an ingrained habit rather than something I flit to on an ad hoc basis. So far so good and I feel stronger for it. Hope you do too.
Have a blissful weekend and remember...whatever the TatT says..no work please as its your non contact time0 -
Bang on the money with the weekly shopping budget - just over £2 under and this was with some stuff I wasnt expecting this week - laundry items.
Going to mooch around the BT cards as I think I may have a problem creeping up and want to sort it sooner rather than later.
Also had a look at regular saving accounts recommend by:money: and may open one to slide the extra little bits in and watch them mount up and as :money: says after 12 months 'ditch and switch' as intro offers reduce. I know it counter intuitive to save as well as having debt but the debt is by an large 0% so building up a little lump some may just well help at some point.
Rock and roll weekend.....freezer and kitchen cupboard proper inventory...bought 4 tins of toms today only to find 2 lurking at the back under a bag of rice:rotfl:Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

I always tried to have some cash savings for emergencies, even when we had the stupid debt so it makes sense, especially if the debt is low or zero rated. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
