Having a very long overdue break next week - going to see DD1 and play in some real snow
Trip paid for with sales at a charity fundraiser this weekend. I have sold a lot of things I have bought to use in my work life. Well, if truth be known, supplied so I can do the what is becoming an increasing thankless task - salaries cut and work load increased - cut backs - uuurgh! So 4 years hopefully to early retirement then a camper van and bum around Europe for a bit - should have done it 20 years ago and thank goodness I am an EU citizen
Thats the plan...........debt free of course is pivitol to this plan:eek::o
I love Spot!fy........bit random but just putting it out there:DBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

What a difference a day makes.........bright sunshine, blue skies, dripping icicles and I have crashed - mentally and physically exhausted. Think I got going too soon after flu bug
6 months a go I would have ploughed on through but I am going to give in to it and rest up - taking 3 days off work and will reassess. Going to walk around the garden and think up some new planting schemes and soak up the sunshine then I might have a sleep. Dont want to get into the habit but I need to be well enough to go away next week.............and that is the most important thing for me ATM.
On a more dismal note - car needs 2 new tyres £285Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Decided a change of scene was in order so booked flights last minute to go and see DD1 in her alpine abode
Real snow and no panic buying, school closures, road closures all buses and trains running ( and free!) no rubbish/litter or people complaining about bin collections - everybody has to take their stuff to a central place. Even met a party of 7/8 years school kids on a day trip walking on a glacier....cant begin to think of the hoops of fire I would have to jump through to get that one off the ground here - have to fill in multiple forms just to walk to library in town:mad: I know its a different place. All geared up for the weather and conditions etc but its also a mind set..............anyway enjoyed the trip and now a little rejuvenated and only further resolved to RETIRE EARLY:D

Attacked greenhouse with a bucket of j*yes fluid,a brush and a hosepipe
All sorted now for the new growing season - had become a bit of a dumping ground over winter. What surprised me more than anything was that I decided to do it and just got in with it - no procrastinating or losing enthusiasm half way through - put this wholly down to the fact I am treating myself correctly and not the NHS cheap skate way for my many years undiagnosed condition..........GPs dont know everything
HM chicken korma made just waiting to go and pick up DD2 from her holiday/weekend job......12 hour shifts poor thing but as she says....KERRRCHING
ETA: use my greenhouse to grown cucumbers tomatoes peppers and melons - saves a fortune in the summer!Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Emptied the change pots this morning - £128. That is just the £2 pot and the 20p pot. Copper whiskey bottle and 5p tin not ready yet
Think the bottle will yield about £55 as it did last time and the 5p tin holds about £35. Also sending box of books to Z!ffit as they had a 15% extra promo on over weekend - hoping for about £15 there:0 Will go as over payments on debt{D
Need to do some card shuffling.........getting tight again as there is very little wriggle room. Contemplating a no fee 4.9% for LOB...........Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Whole day in the garden yesterday enjoying the sunshine
Today a bit of reality - money shuffling and getting best deal on car insurance - yeah we bought another car - nothing special it is 14 years old, but a bit of a bargain!
Means DD2 can now have sole use of car and start building up her NCB and has a little bit more independence and responsibility and we dont have to provide a taxi service - TBH that doesnt happen much - she at university but its 'local' to us so she could live at home but has decided she doesnt want to so the deal she is we dont pay any rent and she needs to work during holidays to save for it...same goes for the car - if she wants it with her she needs to look after it and pay towards keeping it on the road - insurance is paid up to December. All part of growing up without having it all on a plate!!!! She is the only student I know who doesn't have a maxed out OD and can save to go to festivals and holidays in summer!! Her friends and house mates never seem to have any money:oBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Well I have bought another car - so we are officially a 3 car family:o I used money saved to buy it. OH went along with it and became a complete arris over it once I got it home. The idea was he drive it as it is a better car, although older than the one he drives now, and we give his to our DD2. For some reason he changed his mind and said he would never drive it........so DD2 has it now and he isnt on the insurance and was a bit non plussed when I told him. Also told him I paid insurance on "his" car last year so when its up for renewal he can do the donkey work looking for the best deal and paying for it:mad::mad:...........vent over
Anyway money is tight as usual so a bit of eating from stores for a couple of weeks will help and will try to put some stuff on Eb*y. Good news that the sunshine is heating up the hot water and lots of free electric:T
