Gosh its been a long time...........haven't even been dipping into other diaries or threads I follow either:o Just been getting on with RL!

The curve ball that was sent to me earlier in the year finally landed. it passed without incident or drama and was returned happy - my dad came to visit - he is very much the entertainer and story teller and of course the DDs and my OH loved it.........I have heard it all before!!

DDs are in a VERY LONG process of fledgling. DD1 staying in Alps for summer season using her horticultural skills. Came back for a week connected with the above and to swap winter gear ( skiing) for summer gear (climbing). DD2 about to move back from her student house - all of 6 miles away. She finished in May and has been working at a local adrenaline rush attraction since then and will do, apart from a couple of festivals and weeks away, until she is back to university for final year - dont know were that time has gone! she is loving the independence with her own car..........and so am I :D

OH has gone off for a week to pursue his extreme sport in a competition............no change there.

Me?? Well I have finally had my shoulder fixed only to be felled by really bad knee problems so feel as if my wings have been clipped. However I have appointment this next week and I will not be fobbed off with exercise like I was with shoulder - took almost 10 months to get that fixed:mad: Mean while I have been enjoying the garden and the weather. Discovered what mindfulness really means and using it to my advantage both at work and in RL and getting on with the debt busting, life laundry, retirement planning............

Great to hear from you Ig. Well done on dealing with curve ball and parental visits..sounds like you were able to deal with that all very nicely :D

Climbing and skiing..what a wonderful combination... very jealous. Would be my youngest girl's idea of heaven.. love the Alps, but we always really go to the same places and in winter, only once or twice in the summer. One of my retirement plans is to travel around the whole area more in the camper.

Best of luck with the knees..

Not at the TT by any chance is he??! Can't quite remember but think thats this week

Best of luck with it all

Apparently the ski runs opened up again last week for limited use............there was a lot of snow this winter!

Love it when OH goes away..............because I revert to type..... eating wise...........I am a grazer and have lost 2kg in a week :D

Had knee looked at today by a 'child' physio..........looked like a scared rabbit and had tiny very cold hands HOWEVER to give him is dues he listened and did a very thorough exam. My problem is I am very flexible and have a high pain threshold so I can be twisted, turned and bent every which way and the pain to me is minimal - but he seemed to understand this and agreed with what I have researched on Dr G**gle as to what the problem is - I didnt suggest it, he came to his own conclusion :D I also told him I am not putting my life on hold going through exercises for months and not getting anywhere and eventually having a scan an appropriate treatment as in the shoulder problem and he agreed again..........maybe I just frightened him into submission I was in full teacher-I-take-no-cr*p mode:rotfl::eek::D I did admit at the end that 6 hours standing at an Ed Sheeran concert had made things worse......and he just said "Yes. But you need to live your life and this does not need to carry on":p

Anyway I am hopeful ATM which makes me feel positive about other things - knock on positivity! Just as well as I am cooking for 7 on Friday- curry night with the girl friends - they bring the peripheries and I cook the curries...prep starts tonight!!

In debt busting news - all bills paid, all CCs overpaid and gained £1 that someone left in their trolley lock which will go straight into roadkill pot to pay against a CC at some future point and I off loaded a bag of unwanted clutter to CS.:j

So I accidentally knocked over my oversized whiskey bottle which was almost full of coppers - smashed to pieces:( I couldnt move it for 2 days - in the office/study in the corner so not causing a problem )as I was really upset ! I have had it a long time having acquired it during a significant part of my life and it has moved around with me for the last 30 plus years!! Full it holds about £55 of 1p and 2p coins and takes a while to fill - the rule being it has to be full before its emptied:D Anyway I cleared it up after reflecting on was it a metaphor for the this stage of my life.... or maybe an omen or message from the universe and counted and bagged up about £35.
Today I took it to the bank and thought I would pay it against a CC. I am met with only 10 bags allowed *roll eyes* I know NWide limits and now Loids:mad::mad: Of course I asked why - 35 bags of change is blimmin heavy after all - and was told it was because it takes too long. There are only 2 cashiers. They dont want queues..........I pointed out there were only 2 customers in the bank. There were 3 members of staff but only 2 desks open and were banks now refusing to handle hard cash........needless to say I paid it all in - think I have said before, awkward is my middle name!

After this I decided I was destined to be a thorn in the side of over counter banking so I got onto f88cycle and am now the proud owner of another over sized whiskey bottle....and the first few coppers have been thrown in. Any thoughts of being a sign/metaphor now all gone!
