That's amazing. Our local NCT sales charge £5 registration plus 30% and are always clash with family birthdays. DS and DD are also still reluctant to part with they early books which fill every corner of the house! I did get them at Christmas to bag up the ones we could get rid off, they only managed a couple of carrier bags out of the possible hundreds :(.

    Have a good week

I am a volunteer and so get 15% commission rate and reg fees refunded if I am there until the bitter end....usually just the same 4/5 people!! NCT sales up and down the country now competing with sales on FB and lack of volunteers and are not as lucrative for the charity as they use to be. For a very small rural branch we do quite well but the branch only keeps going because of half a dozen stalwart volunteers - newbies are not interested - too busy or preoccupied:(

Garden has been almost 'alpine' this last week or so but gradually the snow line has retreated up the mountainside and revealed a lovely purple haze of bluebells - yesterday was lovely and sunny and their distinctive spicy scent lingered well into the evening.......however today we are back to wet windy clod and cloud base just above the chimney pots again. Nothing for it but to catch up on household chores and some work related paperwork that has been hanging over my head for far too long...now completed:)

Finances plod on.Debt slowly decreases but not quick enough really and sometimes it gets frustrating. In the past I reckon I would have a little splurge at this point but now I just reach for the calculator and see what I can do to shave more, even pennies off the debt.......has to be worth it *sigh* Few of my change collection pots will fill up this month I think and when each pot is full I generally hot foot it down to the bank to pay off a CC, So towards the end of this month there will be a little extra being paid off:T

Wondered what you meant there Brizz :rotfl::rotfl: Yep I will keep shaving.Every now and then there is always a bit of a dip in enthusiasm but I am getting up the other side now :) We have Estyn in at work next week - doesnt bother me but the stress from The Idiot in Charge is probably affecting my mood more than I thought.............there is only so much 'creative' paperwork I am prepared to do on their behalf:mad:

Today we are in full swing of Big House Project part 2.......mainly because OH has left it in the hope it would go away I think...........:mad:Pointed out that his weather dependent extreme sport will have to be put on hold otherwise it will be winter again before anything is done and I told him a few home truths...... namely that sometimes I wonder if I will live to see the finished product.........harsh but that is how I feel! So the router is out and there is mess everywhere. Takeaway last night but I am bit more organised today as the 'creative' paperwork is almost out of the way. So a large ham going in the oven later which will do today tomorrow and a couple of pack lunches and maybe squeeze a third meal out of it:money:

My DH is the same with projects. This is the third house we have lived in and the other two only ever had all projects finished and looking fab just before we moved out. I have told him that I do not want this house to be the same! Apparently he is taking a week off work this month to get some bits done. Fingers crossed

Same at ours - DIY projects get 90% done and then are just left lingering :(

Starnac - You're stronger than I am and much more practical!:rotfl: I don't like to get rid of stuff (especially books) because my mum did that to me and it really upset me - she had no idea how much some of my "stuff" meant to me :(:o

Igamogam, It is a long slog and sometimes disheartening, but it's diaries like yours that keep people like me going :):T

My very best friend once made a birthday cake for her hall...........in that it celebrated 1 year without being touched after it had been prepared for being decorated.........her OH got the message:rotfl: I have spent more years that I can waiting for the skirting boards to be put back in the dining room. Mind you we did spend many years with the lovely solid oak floor for the dining room stacked up against one wall........me and the DDs used to decorate it every Christmas:)

NOA - I put some of my 'keeping things' down to the fact my grandmother emptied my room and gave almost everything away when I went to university - my parents worked abroad most of the year and we lived at my grandparents house. I never returned 'home' after that as I felt I couldnt :(

The garden's spring livery of yellow and green is still very vibrant despite the muted pinks and blues of early summer trying to muscle in - think the weather is mixing everything up!! Difficult week in work over and I really thought I could lose myself in the garden this weekend but RL has conspired against me:mad: Lots of niggly little jobs piling up..........bit of a spendy weekend - bought new coffee machine - we have the old one for eons and OH had repaired it twice but its now obsolete and parts scarce and quite a large appliance so it is being replaced - old one will go on fr**cycle. Also we have a large combo micro which we relied on during the summer months when our solid fuel cooker 'rested' - no longer have SF cooker so no need of a large lump n the worktop - I would not replace but OH wants to. So Have ordered a new basic, but good make so not cheap, - buy cheap buy twice and all that - micro. Old one works well so will also go on fr**cycle. Its very unusual for us to replace something that is still working. Goes against all our principles and feels very strange!!:eek:
