Oh yeah, stupid me.
I understand that you can get up to 50% off with Tescos MOCs, but you need to take into account how much extra it has cost you in items that aren't discounted. Like I said, Tescos are not cheap.
You also cant be sure that Tesco's will take all you coupons, some weeks they wont. It depends which SA you get.
I have stood in a queue happy as larry and then a dragon lady has changed with the 'young' SA I was about to see and taken only 1 coupon!!! This cant be helped and I only buy what I need and what I can afford before coupons.Amazon Sellers Club Member Number 52

I agree that nettos, aldis etc can be cheaper, but;
I simply do not have the time to mess about going to different shops, esp as I would struggle to do a family shop at these places.
Aldis et al, don't, I believe do much in the way of BOGOFS etc.
Like some other posters, my attitude is that I've got to buy stuff anyway, so why not get as many points as possible for it.
We have paid for several Haven Hols and numerous days out with our vouchers. Agreed, you ususally 'pay' full price, BUT like anything else, you have to weigh it up, eg we used almost £1000 worth of vouchers for next years hols at a Haven Camp ( gold star, new model, early check-in etc..). We will use furthur vouchers for days out while we are there.:j :j
We would otherwise have paid around £600 CASH for a basic bronze caravan, plus needed extra money for places to visit.
My husband teases me about my mild obsession with collecting points, admitting that he could never, ever be bothered, BUT he doesn't complain about the benefits!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I think you just have to be sensible about your shopping habits. I split my weekly grocery shop between Tesco and Lidl. Lidl doesn't have everything I want, sure, but what it does have is usually a lot cheaper. The stuff I buy from Tesco I can usually get in a once per three weeks or so delivery, and I wait till I can get a good points code on this before I put an order in. I would certainly not buy all the items I currently buy at Lidl at Tesco instead, just for points. I estimate I'd probably be spending at least another £20 per week in cash doing this, for the same amount of groceries and not a lot of poinrs.
I do use the deals though. Last year I bought joint RAC membership for OH and I, ferry fares to France for family, car and trailer tent; four annual passes to LegoLand, family pass to Futuroscope in France, several meals out for all of us plus twelve magazine subscriptions as Christmas presents. I've still got about £100 of points in the drawer and £80 coming this month, and as I need a new kitchen I'll be looking very closely at MFI, at least for appliances.
My point being I agree with the OP that it's not worth going all out for points, but by using a bit of common sense they can be a really good shopping bonus, without spending more cash than you need to.Val.0 -

I found a watch which I REALLY REALLY want on the net, so I decided to see if tesco clubcard have any schemes, Luckily goldsmith have the watch I want. but looking on the terms and conditions it says you have to spend £200, well the watch doesnt cost this much, I was wondering if anyone have used their vouchers at goldsmith, if they have had to spend £200 and do the vouchers have an expiry date, do I need to go to the shop or can I order online (aplogies with all the questions-its my first time attempting to use the points this way-normally i just use it in tesco's)
Thanks in advacned0 -

Don't worry, you can still get an MFI kitchen at a big saving:
First of all find an independent kitchen fitter who has a good reputation. Then you ask him to get you a Howdens brochure and choose a kitchen from there.
Howdens are owned by MFI but they only deal with trade (at trade prices). They sell mainly Schriber rather than Hygena so the quality is better, and all the shells for the cupboards come assembled, so you aren't paying your fitter for hours of time assembling flat pack cupboards.0 -
Is it just me or are Tesco vouchers incredibly hard to keep track of/know what to do with them? I would much rather let my points build up until *I* decide to cash them or use them (the same as Boots) but I get so confused when Tesco send out these vouchers every now and then. I have a £5 voucher sitting in a drawer and about 300 points I think... no idea how to cash these in or what to get!:staradmin:staradmin:staradmin:staradmin:staradmin0

Tim deegan you are wrong!
I am an avid booker of cheap travel 1p flights , free virgin train journeys I source them all. I have just booked via cosmos for Florida cheaper than my two friends have booked independantly for the same time period. The bonus is I am paying the largest percentage with tesco vouchers so my two weeks in a villa for 5 will cost me £213. I have bought about 150 worth of TV brackets but for that I got 400 to my hols. plus I can sell them on ebay if I want or at a car boot.
My husband thinks like you -but I ignore him -he did not complain when I fitted a new kitchen which cost him£400 -for the fitting only- nor for the 5 free annual passes for Madame tussauds which we have used massively including combining with our penny flights for a week in portaventura.
Look at paid to shop - it is a loyalty card but if used correctly Tesco pay you time and time again.
Its what you know in this case.0
