I have found that if you exchange deals for food vouchers you get a good deal. Have used them in Bella Italia, Cafe Rouge and just lately Greene King restaurants and you use them against the 'real' price for food. (you just have to pay for drinks with cash.) However, if using them for holidays or hotel stays then you can usually get a better deal if paying with cash, as you do have to pay the brochure price with deals.

I'm afraid you very rarely get anything for free. Club cards are loyalty cards, in other words they con you into shopping with them all the time in order to receive club card points that are worth very little. The best way to spend them is actually in Tesco. However you would probably actually save far more by shopping in a cheaper supermarket in the first place.

The free days out are obviously good deals, but as for MFI...........they are way over priced in the first place.
No, that's the worst way to spend them! Assuming you have already got the vouchers (i.e. ignoring whether it's best to shop at Tesco in the first place) if you spend them in store you get the face value. If you use clubcard deals you get 4x that. OK the prices may be more than you can get without the vouchers but not 4 times more.

Good deals that I have used include 3 Tussauds annual passes for £60 in vouchers (total cost without vouchers = £240, paid for themselves in one trip to Alton Towers), £600 off a Virgin Holiday (£150 of vouchers), various hotels and days out. Currently saving for next year's holiday..
    Not even wrong

Sorry but I can't agree with this.

In the last year I have had:
2 Weeks holiday in Florida for 5 people (£3500)
3 Trips to Blackpool Pleasure Beach for 5 people (£250)
    1 X Euro Tunnel (£100)
    1 x P&O Ferry (£100)
Lightwater Valley for 15 people (£150)
Camelot Theme Park for 5 (£50)
Blackpool Tower & Blackpool Zoo for 5 (£100)

The prices I have put is the very best prices I could have got by paying cash, so represent the amount of potential savings.

In the 2 years I have been saving points I have spent on average £400 per month in Tesco, plus fuel, broadband, home phone, credit card, etc.

Because Tesco allow you to use moc's even when not buying the product, I have not spent any more than I would have done elsewhere, so my loyalty has been rewarded ith over £4000 worth of goods.

Plus I have £1500 in deals towards next years holiday.

How can anyone say that Tesco Clubcard does not offer a fantastic deal?

Well if you got all that for free then I take it all back. I did actually say that free days out were good, but I should change that to holidays. Although you do find a few of those offers in the Sunday papers.

So are you telling me that you wouldn't have saved money by shopping at Aldi, Lidle, Netto etc?? Because Tesco aren't cheap.

I have an excellent package from Virgin Media for 2 phone lines with a total of 1000 inclusive mins and 20mb broadband. We have tried other ISP's at our other office, but they were just too unreliable.

I would never use supermarket fuel again in my car. I know too many people who have had their engine damaged by using it.

I never pay the brochure price for my holidays. If you shop around you can usually find similar, or even bigger savings to the discount you get by using club card.

Yes I agree that shops like Nettos are cheaper, but the stuff there is usually quite limited and also not as nice sometimes. I think it depends on how you shop, for example a tin of beans costs the same in Tescos as it does in Nettos. I tend to do a bit of both, shopping around is the key, and I also use MOC to get the best possible deal. I.E £70 before BOGOFS and £16 to pay after discounts and MOCs. All the time getting points which is paying for my daughter's birthday day out for her and a friend, a meal after and a weeks holiday next year. All of which I simply couldn't do without the deals vouchers.

Agreed. But I did say that this was the best price I could have got it fot if I'd paid cash. My clubcard deals price was more than this.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying.

Using MOC's you can often save 50% (or more) on your shopping at Tesco, making them CHEAPER than the likes of Netto, Aldi, etc

Sorry I don't want to sound thick, but what does MOC stand for?

    Oh yeah, stupid me.

I understand that you can get up to 50% off with Tescos MOCs, but you need to take into account how much extra it has cost you in items that aren't discounted. Like I said, Tescos are not cheap.
