Haven't posted before on this thread but I totally agree with putting the money away somewhere. My husband stopped smoking 18 mths ago and we can't work out where all that money now goes!!!
Have saved approx £ 10 p/mth by changing mobile contracts (getting a better deal for less with same provider - & not accepting the first 2 explainations as to why I was paying more!), looking at saving £ 100 on home insce with better cover by end of month using the tips on this site.
Want to start knocking the mortgage debt down asap - there are so many good ideas on MSE I never get to where I want to go - always being detracted by other posts & ideas!!! So inspiring - thank you to all the posters for your comments / ideas. There's just not enough hours in the day. Can't resist a bargain!!0 -

It's nice to see that everyone is finding ways to cut spending down and we should all be grateful for this site and the positivity that it brings...where else can you go where you can feel totally desperate and alone to feeling loved and hopeful0

Wow I didn't know what you were on about so went and had a look...I can't believe that...that's great...glad I post something people want to read...put it on here as thought it could help people that thought there was no hope...as really livened my day up when I went through the figures and came up with that..though I did have to double check!!!
Does anyone know how it became an e-mail tip...does Martin look through or does someone nominate them...Ihave seen where you nominate for tip of the month...0 -
Just shows you what a little planning can achieve! Seriously, these companies will fleece you cos they think you're too lazy to switch up. Way to show them!Student Loan Company Ltd: 17,805 (2.8%) Overdraft: 500 (Interest free)

That's so true hbl...in my pre lb days I was a very loyal customer to a lot of firms...now I'm shopping around if another firm will give me a better deal then I go back to the original ..giving them a chance...if they won't beat or match then my custom isn't worth anything to them...0
