  • taxi - blimey what a result - you must be well pleased! Can't report the same success but did have a bit of a tickle on my van insurance this week, reduced from £360 a year to £219.

Another inspiring thread. Here you go, have a  on me.
    Cheers ;)

It'd be great if I could save on my insurance £1570 for my taxi but when I first started 2 years ago it was £2800...not due till september...that's a good start on yours ...how I did it I printed off my bank statement then looked at all the bills to see what I could get cheaper and bartered with them ...then sorted the credit cards...step by step one at a time..
  • well done taxi going to start saving too now
  • Wow. I wish I smoked and did the lottery. I'd love to be able to save that much. Personally, I need to start making packed lunches to bring to work instead of buying food all the time. I work 5 days, and usually spend about £4 a day on food and drinks. That's nearly £1000 over a year. And I probably spend too much on things like CD's and DVD's, considering I haven't actually watched all the ones I've bought yet. I should start borrowing other peoples more.

    Brilliant savings by the way.

Wow - that's an amazing saving! Will have to work out my figures but don't think it will be anywhere like as much as that!

I didn't know about the quizzes either - is there somewhere to find out what you can get "for free" at Pigsback?

For Pigsback, have a look at the Pigsback thread on the freebies board. Look at the first two posts which list loads of ways of getting free points (and are kept up to date thaks to some hard working MSEers!). Then look at the most recent posts on that thread for the answers to the day's competitions and any recent additions to the site.

That is absolutely fantastic, well done for making the changes and for bringing them to everyone's attention - certainly makes us realise that we ARE doing the right thing!

One thing that you must do is to put the money aside that you are saving, or in some way use it to pay off the debt - you don't want to get to the end of the year and wonder where the best part of £10k has gone with nothing to show for it!

Keep up the good work - I have so far cancelled my gym membership (£600 py) changed phone and broadband (£120 p/y) and cancelled my cleaner (£1200 p/y) - not bad for a week's work!

Waiting for my gas and electric bills to come through so I can switch those and the car insurance is due in March so will get that cheaper and go through quidco there.

    All adds up!
