I don't think my husband will ever be able to afford any childcare at his end, so hopefully he will be able to have 2 days a week off in future and have her over then when he has sorted his own place .
So he's got nearly a week to get the place spotless and get rid of anything unsuitable for children.
I wouldn't have given that much notice if it were me tbh. I would want to see it as it was on a day-to day basis, not when they are 'expecting' visitors.

I just get the feeling OP chooses her career over any child's welfare. I don't know, I just do.

A woman working hard to support herself and her child. Terrible. She should give up work immediately and go on benefits, obviously....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
It seems obvious he is going to get their house looking spotless by the time you visit and he will also warn his family to behave so he can have his daughter over.
How old is he? If over 35, he could potentially claim LHA at the one bedroom rate, as his income seems low. Saying that, he is paying a lot of child maintenance if his income is low. Have you checked how much the CSA would expect him to pay?
It must be very difficult for him if he's been a SAHM up until now so you just know he will do what it takes to convince you all is well at his brothers. I would take what you see with a pinch of salt tbh as he's clearly desperate to see more of her.
He needs his own place and you may need to lower the CM between you so he can afford to have his
daughter to stay. It would reduce your
childcare costs so it's swings and roundabouts really.
I have no idea what the regs are with a nanny, but if he moved to somewhere half way between you and work, would you be able to share the nanny?0 -
If he was a sahd surly it would have been better for him to keep custody and the house to keep things as close as possible for your daughter. It seems very odd to pay for a nanny instead of using the dad, though I do completely agree where he is staying is not suitable.Shut up woman get on my horse!!!0
