I have packed 3 boxes in the kitchen so far and I still have more to pack but only 1 box left. Going to put all the stuff still to be done in 1 cupboard/on 1 surface so I can see what is left to do. If I can find the phone number for the removals I will sort some more boxes, if not DH can do it tonight. Maybe if I pack this next 1 I can go round the house and see what is left to pack. This doesn't seem to be getting easier.

MrsChaos I hope you managed to do all the things you wanted to get done.

    OK. in my HHC I
Hung the washing out on the line
washed up last nights pots & pans (because the washing up fairy didn't come overnight, DH, DS1 or DS2 didn't do it either):(
    wiped down all kitchen worksurfaces
sorted out last 2 years accounts paperwork to store away safely and make room in filing cabinet for this years paperwork.:j

Think I need another cuppa and some lunch

Thanks to the HHC+ I'm now washed and dressed, last night's washing brought in, more washing on the line and WM on with bedding (ours and DS2's bed stripped), DW emptied and re-loaded, kitchen bin emptied and another drawer in the freezer sorted and mince defrosting for tea.

Nothing off the list, but it's all stuff that needs doing. :(

ETA Thanks, jetbag. Cuppa and lunch sounds very sensible. OH is due back any minute, too.

I have lost all enthusiasm now. Instead I have made a list of what needs to be done over the next 3 days so Friday will be easier. I am going to vac the living room in a bit, tidy it a little around the boxes and then try and use a carpet cleaner I have borrowed from a friend. Then I am going to rest before going to work later.

How much cleaning do I need to do when leaving the house? Obviously I need to vac/mop the floors, leave a clean bathroom/kitchen and all the bits in them but is there anything else I need to do?

    Afternoon all,

Boy am I pleased that i decided to tackle the bedroom at the weekend had to call out the doctor for DH so although the room isnt finished it was a lot better than before, the doc gave him more pills to take diazapam (sp?) this time, eventually got back to sleep about 3.30 so its been a slow morning here.

WM on, DW emptied, LR decluttered the girls are going to dust and hoover while i am out.

Dont envy those moving I still shake when thinking about our last move and that was over three years ago.

Ok need to move when i return i will officially have matriculated and be a student will probably be the eldest on the course but i dont care as they say life begins...

    Hi, AJ
I'm really sorry that I can't remember whether you're moving from privately rented, rented from council or housing association or your own place! The short version, IMHO
Privately rented is clean enough to get your deposit back
Council or Housing Association: clean enough and nothing left behind that they will bill you for shifting!
Owned: Leave everything that's on the list with the solicitor and all your rubbish out.

And don't forget to take gas and electricity meter readings in both properties and meter serial numbers from the meters in the old place. just to be on the safe side!

This week, I shall mostly be preparing to go away for the weekend:D And evicting silverfish:eek:

I wonder if the Lame Wolf household has dried out from last night's doggy bathing?

  • Started today with lots of enthusiasm, now completely exhausted. I was just wondering what music folks put on to do the quick bits. I normally listen to Radio 4 but decided to put Gabriella Cilmi on and danced around so much, that dd thought it was great and started joining in bless her. Only problem is as I go around tidying she follows getting things out to play with. Never mind at least the house is getting cleaner. Actually managed to wash the laminate in the front room!! :T now what shall I put on next ...
