Pigpen I'll do the sleeves if you'll do the sewing up.
I too am very sorry about Red Arrows Egg Man - they are based at our local RAF camp and it gives me a lovely warm proud feeling whenever I see them practising over our village.
Messing around on here instead of decluttering my breakfast, so need to concentrate on that.
Trying to do the minimum today so I can give my ankle some more rest, so am hoping Mr B doesn't have too many jobs on his list so we can whisk through my basics - I still have one job left over from my big FriDailies list too. I have put my admin basket out so my afternoon task may well be to tackle some of the things that have been around for a while.Work is not my Hobby0 -

*Scratches head* What the heck am I doing online at this time on a Sunday?
:idea:Oh yeah, putting in a request for Mr LW's meds, so that we can collect the prescription when I go and visit Dr F next Saturday.
Hoppy Birdday lil-me have a super day!:bdaycake:
I need to go and stuff Ted's Kong with treats now, to keep him occupied while Mr LW and I brave the perils of Mr T's.

Loving the thread ladies. You mind if I jump in ?
Found the fly lady web site a few weeks ago and been fluttering along since then. Improvements have been seen in many areas of life not just the state of the house. Gradually decluttering and house is generally a lot cleaner than it was before. I have company comming today so a fair old blitz is due on the downstairs, as I have let things slip a bit lately.
I have two big frogs for today 1) a balance transfer to sort out, 2 ) the kitchen floor to clean and take paint off. The rest is all tadpoles.
Hope to get into the swing of things as I go along, and get to know you all better. So bear with me.
Many thanks, keep spreading the sparkle ladies xx0 -
Welcome to the thread Clarabow - sounds like you are making a good start.
Lots of positive flylady vibes for Lady Liberty at the request of her partner please. Stunned to see that from hospital she is still lighting candles for Diva.
Also thinking of Toots, hoping whatever you are away doing is going well. Misisng lots of people posts at the moment - far too many to name, and I would hate to miss anyone out.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -

For Hex and anyone else interested and/or dealing with a glut of plums. There are lots of variations of this around (on the hob or in the oven, stirring or not, less or more sugar, different seasonings) and my mum isn't here anymore to ask, so I've gone with the one from my trusted preserving recipe book. Hope it works.
Wash, stone and mince 2.5 kg of plums. Mix with 500g jam making sugar, a piece of cinnamon bark and 5-6 cloves or star anise.
Pre-heat oven to 175 degrees. Put plums in a large roasting tray or other oven proof container and leave in oven for 60-90 minutes. Some recipes suggest wedging the door open with a wooden spoon for part of the time. No need to stir (apparently, if you stir once you have to keep doing it). Then stir and fill in jars.
You can also layer the stoned plums with sugar and spices in a large pan, leave for 24 hours and then cook on the hob. Bring to the boil and simmer on medium heat for 2 hours without stirring. Then cook on high heat for 15 minutes, stirring regularly. Fill in jars.
