  • Thanks Valli :T
When we get back from our hols I am going to try & make some jam :) I have just been looking at Jam books on Amazon, but I think I can get everything I need from this forum and save myself some money :D
I think I have always been a bit scared by the sterilising, etc. But putting the oven seems quite easy. I will let you know how i get on next week

    *glows with pride*

Oh and NEVER EVER leave the room

you can break it up into two parts - ie cook the fruit

    have a break

add the sugar, bring to the boil and jam...

(and I have done the fruit cooking one day and then jammed the next - I cover the cooked pulp with foil)
Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY

Well I'm up at stupid o'clock, the truth is I haven't actually been to sleep yet :o
With everything that's been going on I've not been sleeping well anyway so have been relying on over the counter sleeping tablets but I've run out. So I went to bed at 11, laid there for 2 hours and got up again :(
I obviously can't do much around the house cos DD1 and the neighbours are asleep, DD2 is at my parents.
So, so far this morning I've -

    Fed the cats
    Unloaded and reloaded DW
    Unloaded and reloaded WM
Finished sorting and putting away DVDs
Shouted at middle cat for grumbling, hissing and chasing the others  since she was attacked by some other cat and had to have vet treatment and a lampshade on her head she's been a real b*tch to the others

I'm now wondering if it's too early for a coffee  while I wait for the sun to come up . . . ok forget the sun . . . til it gets light enough for me to hang the washing out :D

I have a fair bit of running around to do today. I have to take DD1 and my dad to his club, then collect my friend for her to accompany me to the Doctor. She doesn't trust me and thinks I'll go in saying I'm fine and that I'm well enough to go back to work.
Then I've promised my mum I'll take her to the tip. We are sneakerly dumping some carp while my dads not there. Since he's been ill he wants to keep everything including rusty old tools that came from his dad's when he died about 11 years ago
My mum and I have decided to try and do a couple of bootfairs then send the left overs to the Charity shop.

If I've done it, not need to do it or don't have it I've deleted it

I tried jam making last year and it was a disaster. You couldnt get a knife in the jar - it was rock hard!

  • Good Morning lovely people!

Another sunny day here for us ... hope good things happen to you all today ...

Not sure how much I'll get done today as have DH at home and we've decided to tackle the garage.

Must remember to empty the WM and put on the TD. Some washing on the line drying and a small pile of ironing (Really hate ironing but I do have a shiny new pink iron - so that might help!):T
