Well done on that one BUT I am VERY concerned about DS2.

The nursery MUST have a policy in place where all workers know about allergic children. We have photos of each child along with their must-nots in a central place. I would suggest your nursery considers putting one of your DS in the food prep area.

Agreed - as a mum to a son with a severe allergy I have the t-shirt so to speak on checking things constantly, nursery, school, summer childcare schemes, after school clubs etc.

Before he goes again you need a long conversation - allergies need putting up clearly (photo idea is great) and all staff that may be in contact must be told. Have you an agreed treatment plan if he does eat something - after all children do grab things from each other however strict the no sharing rules. In fact in A's nursery the allergy kids sat on a separate table for lunch to make the no sharing easier to manage.

And most importantly the nursery has to satisfy you they are taking and will take his allergy seriously. Things like when they last undertook first aid training, have they had Epi-pen training etc - do they have any other kids with allergies (talk to parents).

    Good luck,

    Moam
Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.

I've done naff all this evening apart from putting Ds2 and the rabbits to bed (not together obviously):p and decluttering a glass of wine, some cheese on toast and some programmes from the sky + box.

Hmm this packing won't do itself. I don't have to go anywhere tomorrow so i can get properly stuck in again like Sunday. DS1 is going out for the day with his friend and as long as it's not raining too much Ds2 will be happy playing in and out the garden. So, i should have a bit of peace and quiet for a bit, maybe.

    Hi all

Not flown yet but will do level 1 for bathroom & shower room before bed.

    This week I MUST

    Finish stripping wallpaper in kitchen
[STRIKE]Find tesco vouchers to send off to exchange for tile vouchers
    [/STRIKE]
    Finish stripping wallpaper in lounge
Tidy rubbish from garden & mow the lawn
Ring plumbers for new boiler quotes

Hoping I don't come down with a cold - don't have the time at the moment.

Although I still new to the thread just wanted to wish the best to lady-liberty.

    Night all x

i have to say they have been fantastic and have one or 2 kids (think they may have left now) with allergies. they have a cook starting in the next few weeks so that will help out alot. we are lucky in the respect that his allergies "only" cause d and v or flare up his eczema. not that any allergy can be lucky but you know what i mean.

i will have a word tomorrow like about it. i know what my son is like though - if he wants it he will take it and it will be over his throat before you can even say no! he has stolen his brothers cows milk and pinched his toast before too!

Valli - Your jelly recipe is copied out of my mum's secret family recipe book! Seriously it is almost identical. I can fully vouch for the delicious bramble jelly she makes in a huge jam making saucepan. I recommend any flyinglady considering it to go ahead. It's better than chocolate.

DH and the 3 big ones have gone to Orient. they were losing 1-3 at HT so I will probably have depressed people home in 10 mins.

My friend picked up her dog that we have been looking after. She has been a joy to have and the little ones were very sad to see her go. DH has been smitten so I am one step closer to getting my friend's puppy when she has them.

I had a jam mentor (now with us no more, sadly), and it's one she told me and written on a bit of card which I've tucked in my recipe book - having said that I now KNOW some recipes for jam off-by-heart - but I should, by now. I've never had a jam go mouldy despite reusing (and reusing and reusing) jars - thought I do check the screw caps. I've never wax-sealed but I was a lab technician in a previous life (seems like) and I think jamming appeals to the mad scientist within! I have even started tweaking my jam recipes (when it comes to recipes I'm not, and never have been a slavish follower of them - hence my piece-de-resistance - spam risotto WITH saffron! :rotfl: - a recipe intended to appeal to the Vallikids many years ago and it STILL hits the spot!)

    Good evening :D
We went to Alton Towers yesterday :) The younger 2 have Blue Peter badges & cards, so got in free (saving £81.60!), a lady behind us had a 2 for 1 voucher (she was in a party of 3, so was going to pay full price), so DD1 went in with her (saving us - and the other lady - £20.40). We had to pay full price, but paid with nectar points - so ended up paying £1.60 for DH & myself :jIt's a shame we spent so much in the park  We got back really late, and it was a long day (left at 7.30am back at 11pm - 2 1/2 hr drive each way) so we all crashed when we got back to the house!
Today we got up late :D then went into Stratford-upon-Avon to visit Shakespeare's birthplace (DD2 loves to see how people used to live :)) - DD2 & ds got in free again - thanks Blue Peter :T
We were going to Warwick Castle tomorrow, but it is £29 to get in (each!), so with BP kids going free would still cost us £87!! No thanks - we are running out of money!! Going to Cotswold Wildlife Park instead :)
Flying wise - I put the DW on!! (but we are on holiday!)

Valli & Dusty - thanks so much for the jam making tips :T I have been to Lakeland today & bought muslin squares (we don't have a store locally). Next door has a plum tree that I don't think they ever eat, so I may experiment :)
LL - posi/healing vibes sent in abundance.
My sister had her op today, and BIL sent a text to say she was back & awake. We need to wait 2 weeks for test results on the lump.

Hugs & spoons to whoever needs them, esp Vanilla, Toots & LW
