    Evening ladies,

First appearance for me this week. i am spectacularly behind again.......

Thanks for the thread Piggers and Toots - welcome to the newbies.

I am off tomorrow, so am hoping to blitz this place. Tonight I need to sew a button a shirt for DH. I want to be ironing at 6.00am

Never heard of grubs in blackberries until today valli. Got home to make a blackberry and apple crumble, and the blackberries had maggoty things moving round in them. The fruit has been in the fridge for 2 days. needless to say, they went in the bin and I haven't stopped scratching since.
Hey ho - plain apple crumble is now in the oven

    Enjoy your evening

    Evening all

Healing vibes and gentle hugs for Lady Liberty. Hi! to all the new people. Nice to see you back, too, Nixie. I was wondering where you were.

    Advance apologies for the whinge.
Not the best day here. First I found out that my mobile phone bill is much higher than normal (must have not disconnected a call to Germany properly), then I lost/left my phone while out shopping, which in turn made me late back to the car park, just as the guy was writing out the parking ticket. I'll appeal, but don't hold out much hope. :o

We didn't get back home until half-way through the afternoon and since then I've been on the laptop, trying to sort out internet access/phone bills etc. I think it's fair to say that I'm in a bit of a foul mood.

Going to update my list and have some soup with bread and butter for tea. OH is going to do some ironing (I've told him no more than half an hour) and he's proposed going out for a drink/game of cards later. I'd rather smash some crockery to smithereens, but I suppose we can give it a try. Is there such a thing as mid-menstrual/post-menstrual tension?

OK, whinge over. Time to update the list and do some decluttering in the living room after tea, while OH irons. :D

[STRIKE]bring rest of yesterday's washing in[/STRIKE] and fold/put in ironing pile if dry
    research home insurance
    [STRIKE]market for fruit[/STRIKE]
    library
    [STRIKE]collect parcels from post office[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]take DS2 for dental appointment[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Mr M's for fuel and a few bits of shopping[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]shopping in town[/STRIKE]
    buy eggs on way home
phone job centre to ask about OH's sickness benefit claim
decide whether I can face wrestling our old bin for the sake of saving £15 and phone council
    DVLA form
    flying
phone talktalk to find out what to do with two spare routers
find out when I'm eligible for a phone upgrade and order new SIM card

sorry you've had a carp day Mrs. C.

Maxonian - you have 2 choices
    1) soak them (some add salt to the soak water, I don't
    2) try not to worry overmuch. They don't kill you - I am living proof ;)

    Two oft-relisted items have sold

and my 'valuable piece of social history', which I listed at £4.99 (cheaper than listing for £5) also has a bid:T

well im finally sitting down for the first time today!

ive just done 90 minutes of ironing after doing 2 loads of washing and trying to clear the backlog of ironing. its now below the top of the basket :jhoepfully by doing a couple of hours a night i can clear the backlog and keep ontop of the daily washing so i just have a load to do at a time once its washed. i can but dream eh?:rotfl:

DS1 had an emotional first day. was the only child to cry as we went in! soon stopped though. teacher was ace me and her were just so cheery and "come on lets change your shoes/find your peg" then she took his hand and ushered him off before he had a chance to think and i ran off to get DS2 from nursery. that is another story!

ive started putting him in 2 mornings a week over lunch so ive got a bit more space and i can have my time to look for work and increase my skills etc... and today was his first day. they also have a new nursery nurse starting who didnt know DS2 is allergic to almost everything! she gave him a yogurt. he is allergic to dairy! i got the most appologetic phonecall and everyone appologised to me when i went in. he is ok, seems to be having less and less drastic reactions (he didnt projectile vomit so defo better than he was!) only time will tell if his skin reacts to it but seeing as he has an infection at the moment which wont shift (2nd course of anitbiotics in 2 weeks) i dont know if i will be able to tell! it was a total accident he only had 2 spoons it could have been worse but its done now no point falling out on them about it.

well i think ive earned a glass of vodka lime and soda! (bl00dy diet! i deserve chocolate but im being good!)

Well done on that one BUT I am VERY concerned about DS2.

The nursery MUST have a policy in place where all workers know about allergic children. We have photos of each child along with their must-nots in a central place. I would suggest your nursery considers putting one of your DS in the food prep area.

Jam labelled and away. I now have my little jam jar bottles (a rack of 3) all filled with a homemade jam ready for gifting. (xmas!) This year the lucky recipients (my parents because they will give me the rack and bottles back;)) are getting Rhubarb and Ginger, Blackcurrant and Victoria Plum!

its a very small nursery so all the staff know (only every 5 members of staff between the twenies and pre-school and 2 in the babies) it was just this new start who hadnt been fully briefed on his allergies. ill have a word with the owner (actually a friend of mine from church and one of my old youth leaders) about it tomorrow. her husband owns the best coffee shop in town and im in there tomorrow and was thinking of suggesting this to them anyway.
