  • Milkshock, just speak to your GP about it. Many local authorities have NHS mental health centres which offer counselling and therapy services for all sorts of needs, including anger management.

I did try to explain several pages ago that the way you deal with situations is NOT how most other people do, especially in business. If this thread has shown you how behaviour and consequences are clearly interlinked then I'm glad it briefly went in the direction it did, although I agree (and hope) that I'm sure nobody actually would do anything to harm your future career any further.

Sometimes all people need to hear is that you regret your actions and you're sorry. A bit of humility goes a long way ;)

I am pretty sure that nobody intends to use anything they know - it was a case of Milkshock saying that they couldn't identify him because he was so clever, combined with a rather unfortunate manner of speaking to some people... It was a "dare" that cried out for a peg or two pulling out!

On a slightly irreverent note, it's a shame Steve Jobs has died, I'm sure he could have come up with an app for this thread.

Odd how OP is only acting like a reasonable person now he has been outed.

I'm not buying it, do not believe he is contrite, just that he had a wee scare.

If I were the past employer and this thread was brought to my notice I WOULD use it as I am sure this brings former company into disrepute and breaches CA.

i am sorry for causing consternation by my bluff manner on this thread i realise ive become very arrogant and high handed. i realise my temper does get the better of me and i dont always to stop to think of how other people may feel about that.

in terms of breaching the CA, the wording actually states that if the employee breaches the confidentiality clause and brings the organisation into disrepute, the organisation reserves the right to publicise factual corrections. and that is all.
  • You don't think they might think of suing you if they made the same connections, or were contacted by an anonymous person pointing them in the direction of this thread and all the links to your other pages, which quite clearly make the connections - publicly - all over the t'internet?
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

im saying they reserve the right to publicise factual corrections. im not sure they have any other recourse as a result of that clause.

at any rate the issue is whether i have wound people up and if my manner has upset people. yes it has, i can see that now, and despite whatever feelings i may have i should learn how to reign those in.

which is why im following sarel's advice and looking for CBT.

Well once again if this is so you have a very unusual CA. The normal wording is to the effect that if the employee breaches the agreement the firm can declare it null and void and claim their money back.

It is also normal for there to be a provision that both parties will keep the very existence of the agreement confidential followed by a very short list of exceptions. Usually these are immediate family living at the same address, professional advisors and prospective employers.

yes i know its unusual, but thats what it says, as you may have noticed each ca is very different from others, and mine is particularly oddly worded in some respects!

there is certainly no mention of any action on my part (or their part) making anything null or void.

Suing someone IS publishing factual corrections, in essence.
