in a way someone has tried to be pedantic about me, it would have been easy for them to play dumb but instead they chose to dig me further into a hole. thats up to them, but i have to find ways around that kind of behaviour as well!0 -
But did you leave before you were warned that it was being investigated
no i was told it would be investigated and ok people here have made it clear i cant dispute that it was a disciplinary issue, and thats fair enough.
what i am concerned about is the letter from new organisation mentioned other incidents which i can only take to be informals on my file, which i have no knowledge of!
i dont want to be branded a liar for not acknowledging that which i have no knowledge of.0 -
Just be honest at any future interviews. Simple really.0

by that you mean answer the questions honestly.
again the pending issue notwithstanding, how do i deal with issues on my file that i have no knowledge of, that may be confirmed by ex-employer and disclosure of which and my lack of acknowledgement of leads me to being branded a liar!
which leads to me to suspect that actually they cant just stick anything they like on your file without telling you.0 -

well you've had the HR opinion and the legal opinion, but you go right ahead and think what you like.
sigh. knew it was a mistake taking you off ignore, you just like to argue the toss, not actually come up with constructive tactics for gaining proper employment. Back you go to pedantry corner.Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.0 -

its not pedantry im asking you if you can be branded a liar for not acknowledging that which you have no knowledge of in terms of whats on file! and you havent answered!
and in terms of arguing the toss - with all due respect, isnt that what the law comes down to in a lot of cases, judgements are very often made on technicalities, arent they?0 -

That demonstrates my point exactly. Instead of simply owning up to what you did and your part in all of this by firstly your initial actions, then lying about it (which you did) you would rather try and work out how someone else is at fault. Really, sort your own problems out first.0 -

But are you sure there are no other cases , you seem to have a habit of forgetting things
what was the 2nd case btw ?
What do you hope to achieve ? , you do realise companies do talk to each other off the record , you could quite find yourself unemployableVuja De - the feeling you'll be here later0 -

there were no other official cases. if you are asking me if in my 9 year career with said organisation were any issues raised to me by my manager informally then yes, but then so does everyone, and i don't store every issue for immediate recall.
the second case was when i e-mailed a colleague and bad mouthed various staff.
in terms of what i hope to achieve - an apology and compensation from ex employer.
in terms of unemployable well thats an issue for the taxpayer as much as me, unfortunately!0 -

Not going to happen, at all, ever. Go to some classes, speak to a professional but get someone to remove the chip from your shoulder.0
