All the information is there, but is perhaps not easy to follow- especially in the basket where the displayed information sometimes gets confused by initial offers/upfront payments etc.
The current page states that Broadband Unlimited is £7.50 a month "When you take a Sky TV package (from £20 a month) with Sky Talk & Line Rental (£12.25 a month)". If you don't take a Sky TV Package, then the basket calculates the "Ongoing Monthly cost" £2.50 higher.
There's also a reference in the basket- "Save £2.50 per month on your broadband when you add a Sky TV package".
QUOTE]
NO it does not, the basket makes NO mention of a £2.50 monthly fee (& btw I have just "bought" another identical package online again to verify). NOR is the fee mentioned in "Here's the legal bit" and neither was it mentioned when I verbally challenged a Sky salesman if their were any further hidden costs.
The only part you do have right is the last one; ""Save £2.50 per month on your broadband when you add a Sky TV package".
And since when does that statement justify adding a surcharge per month of £2.50 if you do not take it up? It does not!
It should however be noted that the saving of £5 for 6 months on the line rental would be equalled out by the paying of a surcharge of £2.50 for 12 months!0 -
They moved my Direct Debit forward by 14 days (Why ask me what date I want the Direct Debit to be taken from when you change it anyway in the first month?)
Misleading advertising, I followed a link to Sky for the broadband only package to Skys own web pages which clearly quoted a "£25 M&S voucher for new customers signing up online". Now I do not qualify because I do not have TV & besides I took the "£5 off the first 6 months line rental offer instead".
Then a £2.50 surcharge for not having TV.

The "Broadband only" page for non-tv customers advertises the price as £10 a month + £12.25 line rental (=£22.25).
http://www.sky.com/shop/broadband-talk/broadband-options/broadband-only/
Add it to the basket and the ongoing monthly cost is stated as £22.25.
The "Upgrade" page for tv customers advertises the price as £7.50 a month for Sky TV customers + £12.25 per month line rental (£19.75)
http://www.sky.com/shop/customer-shop/broadband-talk/
Above examples are with Sky Talk Freetime.
The difference between the tv customer price and non-tv customer price is £2.50 per month.
As I understand it (and I have both signed a relative and previously had a standalone home communications package from Sky myself) Sky's billing system bills the discounted (tv customers) broadband price, then adds £2.50 to reflect the higher price that applies to non-tv customers.
So, in the example I've given- instead of billing £10 per month (the advertised price for non-tv customers), they bill £7.50+ £2.50= £10.
It amounts to the same, but is confusing, especially when early bills have discounts applied to them aswell. Also, I can quite believe that customers don't always see the right information, because Sky's website/ordering is poorly constructed, in my view, and difficult to navigate.0 -

I concur, Sky also let you pay your line rental for 12 months up front, costs £119.40.
But its impossible to order along with talk online, even if you can find it in the first place. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Hi Scot75
Dealing with same prob. Took up promotional offer over the phone with Sky for free broadband & Sky TV for a year, just paying £14.50 for line rental. Took up offer, then I rang a few days later to say they didn't need to worry about coming and fitting the dish and box, etc, we could do without the TV, I even said 'I don't expect any discount for not having it, I'm happy to pay the same, I just don't need Sky TV'. So I didn't think I'd receive my bill to find out I'd been charged MORE for NOT having it!
No mention of this was made when I rang up to say I didn't need the Sky TV part. I've just been on the phone to them and they said they would need to 'listen to my phone calls to check I hadn't agreed to it'. The cheek! Anyhow, I will fight them tooth and nail on it, going via both Offcom & BBC Watchdog. If we all complain then it will make a difference. I will also be cancelling everything with them as I am thankfully still within the 14 day cooling off period. I would rather pay more for a company I trust, as this isn't the first time I've had this kind of problem with Sky taking money which I have not authorise them to take.0 -

Nothing to worry about then. Sounds like you just got a salesman who was pushing his commission.

Sorry, but you are just being stupid. The only reason Sky offer competitive telecoms is because they can flog you fifty or seventy pounds worth of television. If you do not want to subscribe to the television then of course you will (and ought) to pay more.
You admit yourself in your very first sentence "& Sky TV for a year" and you are now running to regulators saying you had your fingers crossed when you entered the contract.
