Owning is far more hassle than renting...i have done both numerous times and prefer renting but my wife wanted her final home so we bought this place last year its a never ending money pot just to get it how we want it has cost us 30k and its only 12 yrs old but we have done everything we wanted and more..renting gives you freedom of choice in a lot of things. It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
Hi ive allways rented do you or have you ever felt like you are treated as second class by neighbor who own their homes ?
I have one neighbor who likes to cut his grass at 5am with a petrol mower informs other home owners but not us .
Your neighbour is a f**king ignorant idiot!!
I have lived next to home owners who have moved out within 2 years and tenants who have been in their properties for 10 years.
If your neighbour is lucky enough to still be married I suggest you make friends with his wife (and daughter(s)) using your child. If your child is one that isn't afraid of strangers when you are around they will hug and make friends with anyone.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

DIY at 9pm and mowing the lawn a 5am is not acceptable, not even when I am forewarned. If my neighbour came to tell me they were going to mow the lawn at 5am I would tell them to wait until a reasonable hour.
It is disturbing the peace. Lack of sleep or not I think you should ask them to do it during the hours of 8am (10 on weekends :0) to 7pm like normal people
In my flat the reasonable noise hours are 7am to 11pm. I checked my lease.
However I know from talking to a builder I know well, the general noise hours are:
1. Monday to Friday - 7 am to 11pm but they will normally make noise between 8am and 10pm.
2. Saturday and Sunday - 8am to 8pm but they will normally make noise from 8.30pm to 7pm, and try and finish earlier much earlier due to wages.
Even utility companies are careful to only make noise in these hours I actually managed to put in a complaint about British Gas and Thames Water for starting earlier than the official hours.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

Lawn at 5am? What does he tell the other neighbours for?
I'm sure they are aware of what he's doing.
I'd complain about 5am lawn mowing as it's def a sign of a twit.0
