What exactly are they doing to treat you badly? I wouldn't expect my neighbour to tell me when they will mow their lawn.0

But there was no expectation on the side of the OP; however, when the other neighbours are informed and the OP isn't ... we get threads like this
We don't know reasons behind it though, hence why I asked.
Have they lived there longer? Does he speak to the other neighbours more anyway?
I don't think it has anything to do with owing your house or not. Just my personal opinion0 -
Don't forget you're also being tarred with the brush of previous tenants.
The last lot could have been very private, difficult, anti-social or even caused problems and after being exposed to that (maybe even repeatedly), it can be hard to break the association even though you're new people.
In fact, some neighbours may not even realise that you are new people. They may have missed the changeover unless it was right in front if them.
I once unknowingly rented out a house to an apparently nice family who were racists and quite vocal about it. Unfortunately, the only non-white resident in the village happened to live in the cottage right next door. They really upset the poor woman and by doing so, alienated the whole village. I evicted them as soon as I could but I'm sure one or two people are still disappointed (even with me for 'allowing' the situation) and I know the next tenants were viewed with some suspicion at first.
Edit - I myself have rented a house where the landlord was in a heated legal battle with two sets of neighbours over land ownership and unpaid bills. I unwittingly moved my family right into the middle of this warzone and we had a bit of an uphill struggle with the neighbours at first until they realised, through our efforts, that we were allies not spies!0 -

Hi ive allways rented do you or have you ever felt like you are treated as second class by neighbor who own their homes ?
I have one neighbor who likes to cut his grass at 5am with a petrol mower informs other home owners but not us .
Might I suggest that the problem here is that he's a jerk, not that he's a home owner. If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0
