Not inviting children to wedding. help!

i dont know as his only 20 months old i cant ask him, but i think they do as much as adults, its the adventure and exitment for children.
I take it you dont have children? The comment about your dog is unfair as if you did have a child you wouldnt like someone compairing your world, a part of your heart and soul - to a dog. (and im a dog lover it would be cool to have ur dog at the wedding)
I would understand if it was me, i just would be abit gutted and thinking about them all day, but in the same respect adults can relax without them around.
Hope you have a lovley day though, for me children make the day but thats because we are diffrent people. As i said, its up to you its your wedding, and if you feel 100% happy with your choice, then its okay because your happy

I have a puppy that I have to get looked after but I don't expect people to invite her to weddings.
Surely if it was one of your good friends that doesn't have children you would understand?? I don't want people having to miss the ceremony because their bored child is kicking off.
I would not be offended myself as I have been to one wedding where the children were not invited(although there were other children there).
I do not think you can compare a puppy to a child!
The funny thing is I have known people without children to ban them from their wedding, but when they then went on to have children, they changed their minds!
It is also not always that easy for some to get a suitable sitter and with young babies the mum may be breastfeeding etc.
It is of course entirely your right to decide who is at your wedding, but there may well be those who do not go because of it.Someone I know said no children at their wedding and everyone respected it and understood, until the day of the wedding where the bride had a couple of her friends children there. The groom ended up having none of his sisters in the photos because they had all gone home to 'check on the children'.0 -

Funny you should say that. My daughter has said she wants our two Westies at her wedding!!0 -
i see Poppys point, i also very much agree about the way some poeple have a select amount of children eg family which i think is mean, also they would like play friends, i cant wait to see my son and all his friends playing and dancing, as a mother that would mean so much to me to watch as i want my son to be a big part of our day.
but with the last comment, my Son would bea good boy and i would keep him happy and quite and entertained and be included in the photos- thats part and parcel of being a parent or a memeber of the family of that child who could mind the child while the mother is in photos, im afraid that IS being a parent.
POP - that would be cute

Get ready for an empty boring room.
Children make the wedding, in there party best, chasing around, provide endless opportunities for the photographers.
To be honest, you sound like a right pair of stick in the mud fuddles, most will stay away, it will be like an accountants dinner.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

Probably the parents of that screaming baby said the same thing.
I'm not having children at my wedding because I don't want to hear any screaming babies on my day. I might make an exception for older children but for my venue I need 50 adult guests at a minimum and that is already expensive, I can't afford to pay for children who won't enjoy it anyway.0 -

What a load of crap - I've been to quite a few childless weddings and each has been a great laugh.
If the OP doesn't want children at her wedding then she should stick to her guns.0 -
