Yes, Ambleside, although I spent my first and fourth year in Ambleside, my second in Lancaster and my third in Windermere.
you were a leisure and tourism then........
I was teacher training there 2002-2005. (lived opposite the bridge house years 2 and 3)loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -

one of them just went for £122 on its own... and i just need to tell someone....
Wow - nice one :T:T
I have always gone by the unwritten rule of thirds when getting extra money. A third to debts, A third to save and a third to spend. (In your case it could mean 'spend' = holiday and 'save' = spending money for later) What time would you get up the next day then ??? I'm usually in bed by 10pm, 10.30pm at the latest. If i go to bed any later than 11pm then I am a right grump the next day.
I'm usually up at 7.30-8 during the week but a 4am stitching sesh would be saved for a weekend night where I could lie in till 10am (hubby gets up with the kids on a sat, he gets the Sunday lie in.
I'm a total night owl, never in bed before midnight, even if I need to get up earlyCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Nope. I was teacher training as well. Combined with an English degree, which is all I did in my second year at Lancaster.
I lived in The Crescent my first year and then April cottage (the next street along from the Rule).0 -

I know - I used to work in Dodd's restaurant in my fourth year and we all used to go to Sporties after work. Tiny weeny little room with the ceiling dripping with sweat. It was fab though0 -
:hello: By you have been a chatty lot over the weekend - four pages to catch up on
TMIF - your MS calendar is really lovely - such a shame it brings back memories of sad times. Think my idea of the xmas 12 days is on the back burner atm - even wondered about starting it after xmas and get it ready for xmas 2012
Love your treadmill smilie Marru - looked just like me at gym yesterday
Patience with your dd Dorastar - we all have to start somewhereIt reminded me of when i started to knit - had the whole family pulling their hair out. I have known my DH taking my 'masterpiece' to my Mums very late one night cos I 'thought' I'd dropped a stitch and it couldn't wait till morning
My Dad used to say 'Here comes knit one pearl one drop one' bless him - he did have a good point though. My nana tried me with crocheting - no joy there either - tried to do little doillies and they would have made better hats as the always ended up peaked in the middle
Great progress on your Tenby Mags - had to do a double take at first as some of the colours are very similar to the MP Cottage Garden I've just done. Will definitely do backstitching as I go along next time - but it does bring the whole thing alive though doesn't it.
Hope I'm not too late but don't always have a roast dinner on Sundays Flat Eric - especially if we've had it during the week. Yorkshire puds have to accompany roast dinners whatever the meat btw. Yesterday DH made a lovely sausage casserole in a rich tomatoey/oniony/mushroom sauce (totally yummy) followed by some gorgeous strawberries with yoghurt for afters. Yes - choccy pud or sticky toffee pud would have been good but we are trying to be a bit healthy these days and when you see how much effort you have to put in at gym to burn a few cals it makes you think twice - well thats for now anyway
I think a split PP - but what percentage for what I'm not sure. But very well done - simply amazing
Tidied up stitchy stuff over the weekend - trying to get it into some sort of order.
Hope everyone is well.SPC NO 041STARTED SW 04/14 - TARGET 05/16 - TOTAL LOSS 10ST 3.5LBS :dance:0 -
Anyway - she has been talking about roast dinners, then apple pie and cream and well its got me thinking - following my question yesterday about favourite tipple, what is your typical sunday dinner ? do you have roast ?
~snip~
and so as not to get shouted at for not being cross stitch related, what is the day you love most because its the day you can get the most cross stitch done and what is the latest time you have stayed up to just to get those extra few stitches in...
We rarely have a sunday roast here. Usually it's either filled bread rolls or chips and something.
I could stitch all day everyday if I was so inclined but usually stitck to afternoons. I do my household jobs and online wandering in the morning then stitch in the afternoons so as to keep backache down to a minimum.
The latest I have stitched until was about 10pm, and only then because hubby was away on business so had no-one to please but me.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
shiney new thread thanks chicky, you do look after us all xxx
re alcohol (sp?) i dont oftern drink but when i do its tia maria, baileys or the occasional beer if i fancy a drink and theres some in the fridge.
re sunday dinner i love a roast always had one on a sunday at my mums, i normally do one about twice a month now and its normally always chicken coz its cheep and cheerful lol, full roast though chicken veg roast pots yorkies stuffing and suet pudding all covered in really thick gravy making me hungary just thinking about it
tmif i have the same problem as you have just started a new project and im already boared by it, it is all light colours and i cant get into it, cant decide weather to abandon it or crack on with it and hope the bug grabs me, most things i sew are all bright colours
well done pp i would prob pay bills but that is only because im stressing about mine at the moment !!!
i feel for you dora i tried to teach my daughter as well, nightmare!!!

Well, I thought you lot had been quiet over the weekend but then I find out you've moved and possibly done more chatting than stitching!!! ..Mind you, I can't talk - no stitching and only about 4 rows of the baby blanket.
Now, I'll try to remember everything I was going to say...
OK, so drinks - tea, tea and tea pretty much all the time. DH thinks I'm a total addict! I do like a glass of Merlot though but don't tend to drink in the house and am usually too ill to go out so maybe once every 6-8 weeks.
As for Sunday lunch - I love a roast beef dinner. Was sat reading the thread and drooling! We very rarely have a proper Sunday dinner though so when we go to my parents mum always does one for us.
TMIF - love the Margaret Sherry design - its such a shame it holds bad memories. Does anyone by any chance have a;);) they could send my way?
Was it PP selling the records? You've just inspired me to get my dads on Ebay - he gave me them to sell about 2 years ago and I couldn't bring myself to do it but as I am now skint and the credit card it mounting up (am very ashamed that I need to revise my signature in the upwards direction) then maybe its time. He has loads of Rolling Stones, Beatles, etc... How do you post them to stop them getting damaged?
Back to stitching - can't remember if I told you but I can't afford to frame Titanic. When I asked DH if he could fund it he replied "it's taken you 14 years - it can't be that urgent!!!!" :rotfl:
No stitching or knitting for me tonight - we're decorating the spare room and having taken all weekend to empty it (all over the house) we need to get stripping the paper off. DH has lived here for 10 years and has only painted it once when he moved in - it's a right state. Have convinced him that we are moving into that one when its done as I feel a bit better when I spend time in that room for some bizarre reason!
Anyway, i'll shut up now! Chicky, thanks for your work with the thread moving and updating :ACross Stitch Cafe 2011 - no 58 :A

Maybe I just need to get over the bad memories and get the thing on the wall. It is lovely, and everyone else seems to like it.
My problem is that a fair chunk of it was done when I was off sick with anxiety/stress/depression whatever you want to call it - which was caused by an evil boss. I am better now, and I have a new job... but just sometimes, when I look at it I think "I did that when I was off sick" and it reminds me of the whole thing again. Funny old brain0
