Evening ladies.
A nice shiny new thread :T
I got a couple of hours stitching in this afternooon while hubby snored on the sofa. He's now prepping 1 of the spare rooms for decorating so I thought I'd catch up with my online stuff.
Raspberry archers sounds lovely chicky, not tried that one myself.
I've tried raspberry vodka and (lime vodka!) but not raspberry archers - I used to like archers but the last couple of times I've had it, its not agreed with me - i don't mean that I have drunk too much of it and thus suffered the consequences, I mean that it made me feel very peculiar so I avoid it now.
Out of interest and I know it isn't cross stitch related but what is everyone's favourite tipple? Depending on my mood I like Becks/Corona / red wine / malibu and diet coke / baileys and the odd brandy. God that makes me sound like I really like my drink but actually a typical tipple for me now is red wine - and to be honest, I try to limit what I drink because drinking makes me sleepy and makes it difficult for me to stitch. It also means that the next day, I'm feeling rather rubbish because I don't have to drink hardly anything to feel hungover....0 -

Wow a new thread - you are some girl Chicky - well done.
Tipple - mmm lets see. A long vodka - vodka, put in a glass of angus dura bitters(sp) swirlled round and emptied out (thus coating the glass), then you put in a bit of lime and then top up with lemonade. In England you don't get them if you ask at pub/bar only in Scotland I have noticed. I also like white zinfindal (pink wine) and sometimes baileys on ice (my former mother in law still buys me a bottle each xmas - even tho I still have last years bottle to finish).
No stitching for me - still stressed out my tree but hey ho thats life with me just now.
Kind wishes to all
sweetcarer:j cross stitch forever, housework whenever :j0 -
ohhh that sounds different SC. I can't stand wine or champagne (tho you'd not think it from my celler the amount we have been gifted over last 6 years).
raspberry archers is an already mixed (alcopop) one. you don't tend to find it much in pubs here - tho my top pub in the lakes sold it and my local down south - it is SOOO refreshing. And I just found it in my local bargain booze so YAYAY.
Smurnoff ice also goes down well as do bacardi breezers.
I will (at a push) drink vodka and coke/ lemonade.
hope things get better soon SC.... still no luck getting Mr SC a job??loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -

My fav soft drink is pepsi max, I drink it like it's going out of fashion
As for alcohol, I rarely drink at all but when I do it's usually Lambrusco light or Lambrusco Rose because it's not hangover inducing.
For something a bit stronger at xmas time I adore Cherry brandy & coke and also quite like Disaronno & coke.
If out at a pub for a meal I'll usually have Smirnoff Ice.
After looking at chickys link I realise I have had raspberry archers, I recognise the bottle in the pic :rotfl:
As I have got older I find I can't handle hangovers as well as I used to so when I do drink it's not really much at all. Having said that I only used to get hammered when out clubbing because I can't dance unless really drunk:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

Thanks to all the girls in the Cross Stitch Cafe! You're all fantastic! :A0 -
Fraid its a relatively alcohol free zone here. I'm with you shelly on the age thing mind you - have noticed that it takes very little now to get squiffy nowadays and the hangovers are much worse than they used to be.
Have just discovered I quite like Tetley Redbush Tea - bought some from Mr. M's yesterday (£1.60 odd) and used a 40p money off coupon off it and later went into HB and found it in there at 40p (ish) a box
Think I might start sewing some cards just to build up a little supply should I need any at short notice - might even start some xmas ones. Was thinking of starting the Margaret Sherry 12 day of Xmas but I know it wouldn't get done for this year and I might feel a bit daunted by such a big project and don't really want to sicken myself with it part way through. No I've decided - cards it is ..............:D
Will post pic of Cottage Garden once I've sorted mounts out. Got frame from car boot sale the other week for 50p :j. Had a look around local charity shops today but there was very little sitchy stuff to be had
Well its back to my cuppa tea and some M & M s (blue bag) - simply goregous
Take care everyoneSPC NO 041STARTED SW 04/14 - TARGET 05/16 - TOTAL LOSS 10ST 3.5LBS :dance:0 -
Don't normally say this but OMG dd has just started the cupcake cross stitch Santa gave her last Christmas and it has taken an hour to do 23 stitches and I am completely frazzled. I have re-threaded her needle a hundred times, unpicked where she has doubled the thread and I have no idea where 2 big loops have come from! And her response "it's not as easy as you think is it? Let's carry on tomorrow"
Shall I hide it now she's asleep and tell her dh tidied when he got backMortgage £119,533 going down slowly
