  • Can you do the other stitch yet - purl? There are lots of videos on you-tube to teach you x Infact, there are videos on you-tube for all things knittingy - just google the instruction and there will be a video x

Once you can do both stitches, learn to increase and decrease stitches and cast off and then you can make absolutely anything you want.

Do you know any babies who would need a little jumper or a little toy? The worst thing about knitting for me is that i get bored - if it say cast on 100 stitches and knit 90 rows I can't be bothered!!!

Also - you probably never need to buy patterns, just subscribe to ravelry.com... pretty much whatever you need will be on there for free (or a small charge if you must!)

craftygranny - fingers crossed your son gets better soon. no need to feel guilty, we just missed you and that's a nice thing really isnt it?

oh sweetcarer, do not ever apologise. we're all here for you. i'm so sorry to hear the black dog is visiting you again. i'm sad to hear you didnt know about your friends death, that is really hard (family 'sheltered' me from my favourite Uncle's death whilst i was sitting exams... i found out as i recognised some of his possessions at my nan's house. so i can appreciate the shock and guilt.)
the only thing i can think of is that they might have thought you were 'moving on' with your new life since you cancelled your subs? hardly appropriate since it had been so long and you were still involved, but maybe that was it?
the book marks are lovely, what a thoughtful gift! and it'll mean no one can loose their bookmark because it will come back to them!
August Mummy - good luck wearing a heart thingy this close to christmas! fingers crossed they get it all sorted.

tracy - that stocking is wonderful! well done!!:T

Kirstie - i'm not very organised, but for my big Dr Who (the whole thing, not just the little bit i did) i did use stitch bows. for other things, if there is similar thread colours i make a card holder with a hole punch. for one's like the one i've just started, i just stuff the threads in a zip lock sandwich bag! i really do need to find a way to make sure the numbers stay with the threads long term though!

i'm just taking each day as it comes, and trying to focus on what me and my fiance need. sometimes a litle selfishness is ok? right? i had a day out with old uni friends yesterday, it was lovely. i cancelled last time as i was too depressed to face them, and the void of not seeing one for a few years. i am glad i went. and i'm glad i started stitching the other day, thanks to all for the support.

so i did start it! yay! lizzie kate pattern on left showing a 2 upstairs window centre door house... so do i change it to look a bit more like mine? ok so i can't show the bay window, but i can move the door to the right and put a window in, then put 1 big window upstairs too... what do you think? i dont want it to look odd!
