catwoman150 wrote: »Hi Guys
I have done a lot of cross stitch projects over the years. I also do Tapestry kits and latch hook rugs.
How long do latch hook rugs take? I've bought a kit to do for my niece for Christmas but I don't want to start it too early or it'll just sit around getting dusty. I'd say that it's about 50x50cm.Not doing too bad with the meerkats, just got to do the santa hat on the second meerkat, backstitch and the writing in the top corner... Only made 3 ickle mistakes which I managed to correct (even if it does mean the meerkat on the left is slightly further away from the other meerkat than he's meant to be...)
Maybe one meerkat thinks the other one is a mongoose in disguise

I did one for xmas too. I started in about sept and worked on it over 4 months every so often. The completed rug size was 30" x 20" I found it easy to do when I got started. The hardest part I found was finishing off the edges and folding them over so it looks nice at the end of it.cross stitch cafe #90 UFO's 6 to finish in 2013, and loads of new kits to boot

all while entertaing an annoying toddler and wingy baby.

Morning everyone

23rd - that cupcake looks amazing :T and I love the quilt. Not sure that is a craft I could manage, but yours looks lovely
.
Had a break from stitching yesturday as we decided to take DS to the park, only for him to sleep through the visit. So DH and I sat and had ice lollies in the park. We went straight to get DD from school, only for DS to wake up at school, typical :rotfl:.
We then nipped to see SIL, I could have kissed her! She and I were chatting about christmas and how expensive it gets, and how I was dreading buying for my sisters kids (as she expects huge expensive gifts and has been known to buy the gift her DD wants then ring me and say "I have bought it for you, you owe me £15 for her gift!" ).
My SIL then said "We are worrying about money too, so how about we don't do christmas gifts this year? Just stick with birthdays."
So that is a weight off both our minds. It does get bad money wise, as 4 of our children and both hubbies have birthdays around christmas, to add to the 5 christmas gifts, at £10 - £15 each .
So I have decided to do each child a lovely card instead. I did feel a bit "bah humbug" about it, but SIL insisted it was the best idea, and that if we had any money left over to just treat our own kids to something nice. Bless her.
Anyway, back to the sewing, I have managed a few stitches today. Having a bit of a down day to be honest, I was supposed to see my consultant today, but she has cancelled and can't see me until the end of October
. That means my next operation will be later than I thought, and I probably won't have all this sorted by christmas, which is what I was hoping for
. Oh well, nothing I can do about it, but sulk! lol.
Right off to take piccies and do some more stitching

Love your cupcake and the harvest wall quilt is beautiful!:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0
