Hi im knew on this but feel i have to share this as im so angry today:mad: I have been trying to claim my PPI back from Blackhorse for over 1 yr now.. I took out loans with them over the years of 2003 to 2004. In may i received refund cheques for 440.00 and 96.00 pound, these were 2 of the small loans that i had. I have been waiting to receive my other 2 cheques!!!!! But hey no joy because one is for over 3000 and the other is over 4000.

I got my letter from Blackhorse this morning telling me they have refused to pay me out and that i wasnt sold my PPI for they 2 loans unfairly!!!!:mad: I have been told to contact them if i want to complain or contact the Finance Leasing Association as the ombusman cant deal with my case as they are only able to consider complaints regarding policies that were sold by them between 1st December 2001, and 31st March 2003 and from 14th January 2005.

How strange this is as my 2 loans are from May and August 2003. To make matters worse this company Finance Leasing Associations dose not even deal with Blackhorse customers!!!!!

Please help i dont know were to go from here.

I'm not surprised you feel angry, I feel this way for you!:mad::mad:
What I would do then is contact the FLA, but going by many posts on this site the FLA rarely help, but at least you can still try.

That is correct that the FOS will not be able to adjudicate complaints if they were not then regulated when taken out the accounts, but they may still suggest another avenue to take, this would be the underwriter/insurer of the policy.
The FOS have suggested this direction to many in the same position.

So first contact the FLA, see if they can help.
If this fails then still contact the FOS, explain your situation and that you have also tried the FLA.
From here they should mention the underwriter/insurer.

I would then contact BH and ask them to send you a copy of the insurance policy details (this you do not always receive with the loan documents and are normally requested for separately, for example if you ever needed to make a claim for sickness etc).

When these docs arrive, you pursue these the same way as you did BH, now it likely they will not accept any liability, but the FOS will take them on as they are investigating relationships of the lenders/brokers to the insurer, where they must have liabilities somewhere.
So the insurer/underwriter would have been regulated as being an insurer.

Take those steps as above, please keep us posted and we can take it from there.

Hi Di, had a call from HFC last week the lady was very concerned with regards me receiving a letter stating all my paperwork and details destroyed after SAR requested. She stated she was from HFC PPI investigations and would be investigating and contacting my adjuicator.
Today l received a call from my adjuicator informing me that she had contacted her and they had now found my first loan agreement which was for £3000 with front loaded PPI and she had sent a copy to my adjuicator, this is the first loan of which they wrote and said all details destroyed the second loan which was consolidating the £3000 was for £15000 and is later than £3000 loan but they say they cant now locate this ?
My adjuicator says l paid 26%APR on this front loaded PPI and she is now going to work out based on this info how much PPI l would have paid on £15000 and will call me when she has calculations before she put these to HFC.
I know l may sound naive but does this mean she is upholding my claim and now they have proved themselves of being dishonest by now producing this loan agreement after they refused SAR and stated all destroyed surely this is more positive.
Please advice your thoughts.
