  • If you are phoning to chase an order/order by phone, don't use the 0870 number on the website, the geographical number is 01248 679395 and they'll just put you through to Customer Services.

It's the number they list for customers in the Republic of Ireland to use but I don't see why we should pay 10p a minute or whatever the so-called "national" rate is!
  • Anyone had any problems with these???

I got mine yesterday along with River Cafe Cookbook No.2, 100 Risottos, and several non cooking related things. I agree with Lola23 about the size of the box though. I had to have mine delivered to my office, and had to lug it home on the bus when a box half the size would have sufficed.

  • They tried to deliver yesterday but I was at work, I've been having real trouble with the people they use to deliver. This is the fourth time I've had the pleasure(!) of dealing with them and each time before they have just returned my item!! They only deliver 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday!! And the last chap I spoke to said it was tough!!!

    I want my books!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o

Same for me... According to the card they'll try and deliver again on the next working day... was out this morning but no card saying they've called, and nothing at the doorbell yet!! Hoping they turn up today as I'm out all day tomorrow...
  • Dead chuffed this is in the weekly tips, but even more chuffed that all you OS-ers have been so persistent and still managing to order by phone, even finding a cheaper rate phone number! Pity about the home delivery network, it's true they are the one weak spot in the bookpeople's otherwise great service. I have had problems with them putting cards through the door without knocking and finding it a hassle to get them re-delivered. Nowadays i try and get them to deliver to a neighbour. Good luck and i hope you all get your books soon.
