  • Hello old stylers, judging by the very helpful posts on here i know most of you seem to have a lot of recipes up your sleeve already, but this offer from the bookpeople seemed too good not to share. sorry if this is in wrong place.

£5 for 8 brand new penguin classic cookbooks - Jane Grigson's 'English Food', 3 by Elizabeth David, 2 by Nigel Slater, plus 2 more, for £5 the set at the moment - plus quidco have just started doing 5% cashback on the boopeople, making it £4.75 for the lot!! (plus postage, unless you spend more than £25 or can find a free postage code):

  • Flippin heck!!! I chose another book so that free delivery code worked and they threw in an annual of your choice too so that makes my order - 10 books for just over £10 - I need a sit down I think....

When I use Quidco, it brings the bookset up at £9.99 instead of £5. Think I'm going to purchase without using Quidco this time.

  • Glad it's useful! re the quidco query, try finding the books by clicking on 'sale' then on 'book sets', for some reason they have the set on there twice, in the cookery section at £9.99 and in the sale section at £5.

ooh i love old style... bought the thrifty old style book before xmas and my house is now cleaner than it's EVER been - such a nice feeling.

It does seem to be on the site twice, one at £9.99 and the other at £5.00

The £5 set says "this set is shrinkwrapped" - don't suppose there is any other difference though.

    edit - poor spelling, sorry.
