Terrified at Employment Tribunal

Thanks Googlewhacker.
Then what should I do?0 -
What you have to do is provide as much evidence /explanation as you can do. There is nothing else to do. And stop getting so exercised about their lawyers doing their job. The die is cast. You have made a claim and you didn't really expect that they would roll over and play dead, so you really are going to have to calm down and just see this as part of the lot. If you don't you will be frazzled before you even get to the hearing.
Honestly, I know it feels like this to you - but this is a legal process and it is nothing at all personal. I have no doubt that quite a lot of employers that face me think that I am a super !!!!! and out to make their lives hell. In fact one or two have said so. But I am just doing my job. I really don't (mostly) care two hoots about them one way or the other. It's my job. The same applies to the lawyers you are dealing with - they really don't care about you, and frankly, I wouldn't mind betting that they don't care too much about the employer either. This is a pay cheque like any other job. We don't get paid by results - win or lose we will get paid. That might seem rather cold, but it's mostly true. The lawyers are not out to get you and they are not being nasty - they are just being lawyers.0 -
I have provided what I can. There is nothing else I can provide. It doesn't take a genius to note that my ex-employer is just playing a game. I provided what they wanted. Then they asked for more and I provided that to them. Now they are going to a point where there is just nothing else I can provide them. There does not seem to be any justice here. Where is the heart of people? What else am I supposed to do? Why should I provide my private information as to whose computer I used? It was a friend who probably does not want to get involved in all of what's going on. If I provide that information to them, then they will ask that he appears in court. This is ridicoulous and is just not right. Is there really justice here?
The OP says in this post that they used a friend's PC but a few posts later says that they used a public internet cafe and they hope they will remember them - doesn't sound like a friend to me!
My point is that the OP says they don't lie as they believe in sin - but surely saying they used a friend's PC was a lie then wasn't it??0 -
Hi Cheeky_Monkey: probably I should explain to clear your doubts. ET1 was completed and printed out in the cafe. There were another 3 pages of the content (which could not fit into the ET1 form) which I thought was included when I printed it out at the cafe. However, when I returned home, I read through everything and realized the ET1 form did not capture all the information. So, instead of going back to the cafe, I called a friend who was fine with me going to his place, typing up the 3 missing pages of content and printing it out.
To summarise: ET1 at the cafe and the 3 pages at a friend. Hope this clarifies. Yes, it could sound like fiction but that is the true account of events.0 -
look, I have done the same as you - it is intimidating, it isnt everyday stuff for most of us but it is down to how you feel about what happened. If you feel so passionate about it, just keep going - take a deep breath and do it - you will kick yourself if you pull out now. The lawyers are paid to do their job, thats it. You want to win, they want to win. If you have the facts and sometimes on the balance of probabilities, you will get there but if not, you have tried and can feel proud of yourself for following thro.alot of people would just whinge and moan for years about bad treatment - I found the chairman at the ET very sympathetic and he didnt allow the defendants lawyers to be clever and bamboozle me - but I do take alot to be bamboozled! its a great feeling when its over - mine actually went all the way to London appeal and I did get legal aid for that part. Most solicitors will give you 30 mins free but there is loads online to research from. best of luck0

I've just noticed that it's a different employer as Terrified found a new job last year.If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -

Yes, I know. But there's a sort of theme here isn't there? Scary employers with scary lawyers who want to unfairly dismiss you. You must know that once is a tragedy and twice is careless...0
