My employer is accusing me of fraud as he is retaliating me of raising whistleblowing

I am so terrified now. My boss is accusing me of fraud shortly after I raised various whistleblowing cases and where I disagreed with some of the ways he was handling the business and the employees.

Knowing him, he is taking full revenge on me and is now accusing me of fraud. He has invited me for some investigation meeting.

I am so terrified as I have not done anything wrong. Infact, I have been so faithful at work and done everything in best intentions.

I have been told as my boss is ruthless, he will even go to the police to claim fraud. Of course, I did not commit any fraud.

If he calls the police, what will happen? I have not told my family about what is going on as I do not want them to worry.

I am so terrified. Can someone please help me?

Thanks.

If you haven't done anything wrong then if the police are called they will find nothing to back up his claim of fraud.

Go to the meeting and remain calm. Ask him for copies of the evidence of the fraud and see what hes playing at.

He'll either have tried to make something look like fraud that you've done without that intention OR will be trying to pass off something he/someone else has done as your work.

Be prepared to defend yourself calmly. If he does try to call the police they will need the evidence and you should be able to prove that it wasn't you/wasn't fraud.

Thank you for your response. But I was told that the police usually would make it difficult for me. My employer has the money to go all the way to get lawyers etc but I am stuck as I cannot afford those heavy legal fees. What should I do?

What did you disclose and to whom, i.e. was it a protected disclosure? Was the disclosure genuinely in the public intrests?

Why would the police make it difficult if you are innocent?

you aren't entirely innocent are you?

What did you do that would make your boss scream fraud?

    (you've done "something"....)

I have to admit that I agree to some extent with Firefox here - the OP may not have committed fraud, but there is far too much missing from the story.

OP - it isn't your business how he handles his business or his employees and it isn't up to you to disagree with him. I strongly suspect that you have seriously screwed up, and what you claim to have been whistleblowing wasn't at all. The definition of a prtected disclosure is very specific - it isn't about not agreeing with your employer.

You need to tell the full story here - and that starts with how long you have worked there, because I have a horrible feeling that it may not be a year.

If the police are involved and you're being charged with fraud then it's got nothing to do with your employer's lawyers. You'd be prosecuted by the CPS (if they decided there wss a case to answer), and given legal aid if you need it for a defence.

If you're concerned about a civil case then that has nothing to do with the police.

This is clearly showing me that they want to continue to humiliate me and cause me distress and stressed so that I give up in continuing with my claim. They know that I am about to hit my breaking point.

There appears to have been a previous ET case which generated some distress from a previous employer last year.

Oh dear. The OP seems to have a habit of working for ruthless employers with lawyers they are terrified of. And of being light on facts. Or knowing what they are doing before they do it. My bad feeling increases.

OP - I think you really need to tell us what you have done.
