My employer is accusing me of fraud as he is retaliating me of raising whistleblowing

My manager has not shown me the proof other than saying I fraud my salary increment letter. But that does not make sense as all approvals of salaries are made by my manager. As he claims it happened in January, can't the board of directors see that he is actually lying. Why is he bringing this up now if he claims he knew about it in January. That is 6 months ago. My manager is just trying to find some faults of removing me from the company and showing to the others that if anyone opposes him, this is how they end up with.0

Hi Firefox1975, I read your response and to answer your question as to whether I am innocent, yes, I am 100% innocent. I did not commit any fraud. I live by my values. Of course, I now regret talking too much to my manager telling him how I really felt he treated the whistleblowers and somehow disgreed with him on the protected disclosures which involved unfair termination, finding excuses to terminate someone and saying it was due to redundancies, terminating people saying due to performance but never having mentioned that to those employees before hand. infact, at times telling those employees they were doing a great job.
I know my manager will find some excuses to terminate people. That is his style. I have worked very closely with him. Of course, when he said i committed fraud, I was surprised he said that with no validation. When I asked him further, he said he knew about the fraud in February this year but only now he mentions it. Why didn't he mention that earlier on if it was serious? The word fraud is a serious word and can hurt anyone's reputation. Why did he mention it after I raised the protected disclosures? Why is he now scaring me that he will contact the police? He knows I am weak mentally and I panic very easily. I have done presentations to employees in the past and my manager knows that I panic very quickly. He will go all the way to make sure his job is secure. He knows he has underperformed so finding excuses with other employees will help him keep his job somehow. That is how it has been going on for a year or so. I raised it with the Chairman but again he does not want to do anything about it as both the chairman and my manager are close friends as they used to work together before.
OP - do you work in an episode of The West Wing?
My only piece of advice would be that you learn to relax a little bit.0 -
I am still struggling with this. Are there actually any whistleblowers at all? In the sense meant by the law? And in what way have you blown the whistle? It seems all you did was tell your manager that you disagreed with him - which may be classed as stupid since you knew exactly what he was like, but it isn't whistleblowing!
If there is no evidence that you have committed fraud then the police are not boing to be called, and if they are they won't be interested. There has to be evidence!0 -
OP, I refer back to #5 - what did you disclose and who to?Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0

I don't really have anything to add because I'm not familiar with this area, but I will say.. shame on you MSErs.
OP has come for advice and instead of politely asking if they're hiding anything, you're accusing. "have you done anything that could be construed as fraud?" comes across a lot better than "what did you do? what are you hiding?".Starting debt: 3399.39 / Debt now: 2975.39VSP Challenge 2012: £39.58/£100 Crazy Clothes Challenge 2012: £3.00/£150

Go to his superior. If they can't help, then go above them. Keep going til you get to the top.
And start searching for another job, no firm likes an employee that creates problems, even if you're in the right.0 -
Let me clarify - there have been whistleblowing of other managers bullying and harrassing their teams, there have been whistleblowing that some managers have falsified accounting records, there have been whistleblowing that some managers have sold company records to outsiders, etc. Also, about my manager terminating those he disliked. On those whistleblowing, I investigated and found that those claims were true but my manager scripted the responses for me to show that those whistleblowers were lying. But in fact they were saying the 100% truth. But because I sympathised with the whistleblowers and because the manager did not act correctly, so I challenged my manager. He was of course unhappy. But I have a heart and I believe in the truth. If someone is bullied, I feel for them. I felt for the whistleblowers and the hell they went through. I have been sitting down and asking myself on what basis is my manager claiming I committed fraud if he is the one who gave me the salary increment. I am constantly in tears now as I don't know why he is doing this to me. Doesn't he have a heart?
Hi Ohreally, in terms of who I disclosed the whistleblowing issues to, was just to my manager as he is the most senior employee I know of. He claims he has told the board of directors but I dont believe so otherwise I am sure they would have taken a serious look at it.0 -
So where does the fraud part come into it ?0

And start searching for another job, no firm likes an employee that creates problems, even if you're in the right.
In this specific case I would agree with the above.
OP - I am not saying that you are in the wrong, but from the nature of your posts it appears that you do not have the constitution for the kind of process / "fight" that is now required, so why stay in a job that will make you increasingly unhappy?.
My only other advice would be in your next job, even if you see injustice done to others, please do not start something that you are not able to see through as it only causes additional stress on yourself.
I hope that this comes across in the right way - it was meant as a positive comment and not as a personal critisism.0 -
Terrified - I may be misunderstanding but this isn't what the law refers to a whistleblowing. You appear to have raised an internal complaint???
You refer to investigating, were you part of an investigatory panel looking into the affairs of another employee following a previous complaint?
If so were you then coerced into fabricating statements?
I suspect the time is upon you to move on to another job, sooner rather than later.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0
