Ice-save site error

 I have been trying to log onto Ice save to transfer some money. There is a 'site error' again, and a suggestion I try to contact their (uncontactable) customer services. I have tried 3 times. I will have to take a trip into town and pay a cheque into my BS account (slightly less interest, but loads less hassle). If you really needed to get at your money (it is after all an instant access account) you would be stumped, wouldn't you? I want to pay in several thousand pounds, but now I will pay that into another provider. How does that make good business sense? I have A&L direct saver etc, but that is linked to another account, and the hassle and delay of moving it between current accounts is more than I need.

Their site is not very good......eg buttons move up or down when you click on them.

  • I must admit that I am finding access to some internet accounts very irritating.

Icesave has been the one for me which so far has been the most reliable.

As you say Dawn, what tends to happen is that you just go elsewhere if you can't gain access. So it pays to have several accounts available with roughly comparable rates of interest.

And it is also nice to know that the local building society is always there if not!

Yes, ING have just changed their logging-in procedures (yes, I DO still have a bit of money in there, just for conveniences sake) and it is now really annoying. I thought the ICEsave logging in was clunky but the new ING beats it by a mile. I used to think it was one of the better ones, not any more.
  • I too after a month of applying for an account have just received today my Log-In ID and am unable to log-in. I have tried twice to no avail. I am wary of trying a third time as I wonder it might 'lock' me out and ask me to contact the dreaded unobtainable Customer Services Desk.

Does anyone know if this is the case?

They are not covering themselves in much glory at the moment and like previous posters I am wondering if I have done the right thing.

I have just posted in another thread roughly about the same subject.
Who wants to have several accounts?. Oddly enough I do have 3-4 but at the moment I am trying to tidy my affairs but it's such a hassle with these new banks. I'm seriously thinking of putting it all in SMILE savings especially if I can't find one which is as easy to use. Think I'd rather miss out on a couple of hundred pounds and "no worries".
  • Anyone else having log-in problems this afternoon?

This is the first time I have encountered this.
