Add the number of petitioners to the number of rioters and maybe we could develop some sort of measure of the IQ of our country :)

Oddly I think most who support the sentiment will not sign it.

I have not supported it, but I do agree those that those that are supported should feel they are lucky to live in such a country where they are.
They should not go about destroying their comunitys and affecting the jobs of those around them.

But in reality this was all about material gain apart from the initial riot in Tottenham.

Actually I don't think that option (benefit loss) would teach them anything.

I would make them do the work to fix all the damage they made (for free). They need to learn responsibility and respect towards other people and their property, the only way to do it is to make them work, usually hard labour easily sorts out the idle. And yes, while at it, bring national service back, good for teaching discipline.

    Answer the question.

Or I we back to "It's ok to have a pop at you lot, but don't have a pop at me".

You confuse me, I thought the party you voted for were all the things that you were ranting about?

Are you going to answer the question or not? Simple "no" in response will do if you like.

    ???????????
So now your suggesting anyone who signs this petition, at their own free will, using their right to "free speech" has a low IQ.

I don't wish to turn this into a Monty Python type sketch but that is a statement not a question.

    What you wrote.

    What you quoted
As a country we have got to the stage where perpetrators are very well protected.

Hard to know if you don't quote the same quote.;)

But are you saying that the vast majority of the looting was dealt with with a strong response or a vast minority?

The second point you quoted was true in many cases the police did nothing but watch, and that was the part that was pulled up today. They treated as civil unrest not crime.

I guess all I can do with my low IQ is to translate that to "no, I will not answer your question".

Well done Stevie, have an internet point.

It was dealt with by a response that the police felt appropriate and and as I pointed out it wasn't all easy easy.

Have you asked that question yet?

I never used the word all or easy (but it was fairly easy to strip a shop IMHO).;)

the world view was that the response was light handed and the majority of the nations view IMHO.

I am not dissing the police but this goes back to the human rights issue. The response was most probably not the response they would have like to have done.
