As a newbie to this, Can I ask how long you spend entering competitions a day and on average how much do you win?

Also on postal entries, Is it safe to write your name, address and email? Has anyone ever got junk mail because of it?

    Many thanks! :)

    Another newbie!

Do you enter all comps or just the ones you fancy winning the prize for??

How many comps do you think you enter per day?

    What are your winnings like??

I just enter as many competitions as I can - I can always donate any unwanted presents or sell them on ebay!

I dont spend too long on entering them but when I have time I enter!

I enter all comps except for Spa breaks (my idea of a nightmare), for skiing holidays or for large bulky items which would be difficult to sell on ebay. I enter mostly online comps and postal ones if the prize is of high value or it's something I really want. I find if I enter every single postal comp I spend more on the stamps than the prizes are worth.

I hardly ever get any junk mail as I nearly always tick the 'no' option for further info and in 2006 I won nearly £5,000 worth of prizes!!

I just enter all the competitions on the Internet. Just got 2 tickets for Leisure Show, can't go, so I said I would send them to someone else. Only started doing this early October, and have had a few small wins. I only get emails from the things that I said I would accept emails from - I usually open them, then delete. Its certainly a challenge trying to find a competition that hasn't been posted on here already.
I love the atmosphere on this forum, as there are some really nice people on here, who are happy to share.
What a better place the world would be if everyone had the same attitude as on here.

I just enter ones I would actually like either for me and my family or extended family for presents etc. I'd just rather someone who could use it won so I don't enter a lot of the London ones I just couldn't afford to go to or skiing or car-racing experiences for example.

I do get quite a bit of email junk but if you delete it as it comes then it's easy to deal with.

I enter most competitions. I skip some of the tickets because the concert/ show is just too far away and some CD's. If I don't want a prize then I put it into the pressie box and use for a Christmas/ birthday pressie. This works out especially well for the endless pressies my teen daughter seems to need for friends birthday's.

I only enter for things I want as I personally think that it is much nicer to win something you actually want.
Plus there are many people that would love something that you might think is rubbish.

The ones I put in the pressie box tend to be the runners up prizes, such as a dvd when the main prizes was a portable dvd player. I agree with you though Heather, if I know I want a prize, I don't enter.
  • I have been entering competitions on here and on theprizefinder.com. What is the best way to enter competitions? As they arrive or just before they are about the close? Is there a place on here for tips for comp newbies? Really want to get into this! Thanks
