black-saturn wrote:I enter all comps except for Spa breaks (my idea of a nightmare), for skiing holidays or for large bulky items which would be difficult to sell on ebay. I enter mostly online comps and postal ones if the prize is of high value or it's something I really want. I find if I enter every single postal comp I spend more on the stamps than the prizes are worth.
I hardly ever get any junk mail as I nearly always tick the 'no' option for further info and in 2006 I won nearly £5,000 worth of prizes!!2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040 -
I enter comps that I would like to win for myself, or give to my OH, kids or step-kids. I don't enter holiday comps except 1 or 2 night breaks within reasonablr driving distance from where I live (ideal for a quick getaway from the kids:)). I don't enter comps off teen sites as I don't have any teens (yet).0

There is no place for comping advice, although we are hoping to get a sub board for this. I tend to enter comps as I see then, although some people prefer to enter postal ones last minute in the hope their postcard will be picked from the top of the sack.
You may want to try Loquax too, especially the forums as you will find advice from experienced compers there.
Your highest chances of winning are in local competitions such as local radio and newspaper. These attract less entries.0 -
is there any alternative to robofill which doesn't take up too much space? I'm on windows 98.
also, someone mentioned a good competitions site... it began with 'L'. does anyone recall what it is? x0 -

I started comping about 5yrs ago then took a break when I had my first son - trying to get back into it now! Especially as I have 3 little ones!! - anyway.....I used to use roboform but the trial ran out and with the free version I couldn't hold as many passwords etc that I needed - so I scraped it.
Now I'm just back into comping since Oct 06 and just use the google autofill - not great but saves time!
And as for the site beginning with 'L' would it be loquax.co.uk???
I prefer https://www.theprizefinder.com - seems easier to navigate to me - but I do use them both.
Good luck to everyone - may 2007 be a prize filled year!!Jo x2007:£5181.09 2008: £6619.70 2009: £4284.49 2010: £5213.14 2011: £4980.62 2012: £3188.52

I only started comping back in October and have had a few small wins so far, dirty dancing show cd, 2 of the avon instant wins and got a pot of loreal revitalift through the post this morning. I only enter competitions with prizes that i actually want to win or that i could easily sell, I dont enter holiday comps as i have no passport. Am still hoping that big win reaches me soon lol.2007 Competition challenge.( Win back my ntl internet costs for a year) Target £220 Have won so far = £9.99 Loreal revitalift pot of cream. and = £14.95 Royal mail smilers stamps!
Weight loss challenge started 3/1/07= Target 5 stone/ loss so far 3 stone and 4lbs (yay!)0 -
I also have a question and was hoping someone might have an idea what is going on with the handbag christmas competitons?
It was meant to end at christmas but the entry form is still showing on the website and there is no list of winners yet either. The only list of winners on there is for the birthday handbags competiton that ended before the christmas one began. Has anyone got any idea whats going on there at all?
Thanks in advance.2007 Competition challenge.( Win back my ntl internet costs for a year) Target £220 Have won so far = £9.99 Loreal revitalift pot of cream. and = £14.95 Royal mail smilers stamps!

I only enter comps that I want to win. Holidays for 2 people are no good to me so I don't bother. The family hols comps I enter with avengence.
Although weekends away for two people I enter cause I'm sure I could dump my two boys with someone for 2 nights!:rotfl:
Since joining here, I've been entering the online comps, but the last few months I've started entering postal comps and tiebreaker comps as well.
I've got a subscription for a comping magazine for a year, and I'm a member of
another comping site. So I'm going to see how that goes.
If I end up paying more on stamps and joining up fees than on my winnings I'll give up on that side of it. But I'm gonna give it some time to see how I get on.
What got me hooked to comping was that last year, from links from this site I won a Champneys two day break, an X box 360, and a £75 voucher for a canvas print. So I hope to replicate that again this year!
I also love the atmosphere on here and visit here pretty much every night! (At least hubby gets to watch his fishing programs when I'm on here:rotfl: )0 -
I am going to start buying the local paper and looking for local comps in the free ones that you get in cafes etc. I am already addicted to comping, at this rate I'll be on here all the time, what with the Grabbit, Freebie and Voucher boards as well...argh!0
