You could be right I have to say I'm judging the book by it's cover - I've never tried it!:o But I do think you can get a better deal out of this offer. However if you really like the wine, fill yer boots! :D

The only reason i was going to get some is im a huge lightweight and i can barely drink a glass of wine without feeling drunk! so wanted something lighter that i can enjoy with my friends when they have the stronger stuff, I would like a good deal on rose though but dont know what else i could go for? I am thinking of getting a mix of the sparkling rose on offer of 3 for 12 and the silver point.

WOW - am amazed at this offer, just logged on to tesco to try for myself.

Can I ask a stupid question though? If your wine is already on offer at half price will you still be able to get the 25% discount? And if so, is it off the reduced price or off the full price?

Trying to work out what is best, I love Chardonnay but am trying to figure out which is best for me.

    Thanks,
    Al x

    The way it works is:
For 25% off you have to buy at least 6 bottles (but not multiples of 6, just 6 or more).
If it's advertised/marked as 'half price' the 25% comes off the reduced price.

If it's on offer as '3 for £12' you get both deals. I.e. if wine is £5.99 a bottle or 3 for £12, the full price for 6 would be £35.94.
But first you get £11.94 off because 6 should be £24.
Then you also get 25% off the full price, which is £8.99.
So you pay £35.94 less £11.94, less £8.99, which means it will cost £15.01

The most money comes off the more expensive wines that are already in a deal (2 for £10 or 3 for £12), simply because you get 25% off the full price on top of the deal.

But, if there's a wine you like then you're still getting 25% off so don't hurt your head too much. I got 6 of something that was (supposedly) on offer at £4 instead of £5.79, so at 25% off it cost £3 a bottle. Whatever it's like I'm sure it will be better than the only one they have at a normal price of £2.99 so I'm happy:)

We did go to the big store this evening, and got I think 24 bottles, but as with the Express earlier, it's going fast, so best not to be too specific about what you want anyway.

Btw mrsvanderkamp I did go back and thank you earlier but must admit I don't always:o

A lot of people like silver bay! not everyone likes a wine thats so dry it strips the lining of your throat, stop saying its !!!!!! etc and let people make their own choices, some people like the taste and some people prefer a cheaper wine !!!!!!

I do find that a "diet coke chaser" helps restore a little saliva to that stripped bare throat!

    Thanks to OP :T

Just done an online shop (1st one) hope this works out right, can someone please confirm

12 various bottles of finest £89.48
    less 25% discount £22.37
    less 2 for £10 £29.48
    less £15 first time order
    less TCB £5.05

    = £17.58 plus postage £5 grand total £22.58
    therefore £1.88 per bottle
Can I ask a possibly stupid question, what does TCB mean that gave you £5.05 off?

Then go for it! My mum's bit of a lightweight these days but still likes nice wine, so is always looking out for wines under 11%. We found a Pinot Grigio today in T's (LA Gaioso I think) which was 9% and about £4.00 a bottle pre discount - might be worth a punt although after discount it's not any cheaper than the expensive bottles (the more expensive the bigger the discount)

Also another thought, if you get some of the 3 for £12 you can always make a nice spritzer with lots of ice out of them, the bottle will last twice as long and you'll only get half as tipsy!

I know the feeling... supposed to have had an entire week revising and no spending, but every day (thanks to this site) I found myself lured out to spend (mostly at T's) I know that I have spent far more than usual there because my last cc vouchers were for £23.50 - I used to get about £7.50 each quarter!! I kind of know that I am saving money, but at the same time, I seem to be addicted to spending! At the last count, I had enough washing powder to last me till next spring and then with the Sainsbury's 3 for £10 offer, I now have enough until next Autumn, but I'll probably still buy more if there's another glitch/good offer about! I keep telling myself that "I'm saving in the long run" but I need to stop spending!
