My 50% off SKY WORLD came to an end last month, so rang SKY and cancelled, they offered me 25% off for 6 months but said 'NO, I CAN'T AFFORD SKY UNLESS I STAY ON THE CURRENT DEAL OF HALF PRICE', they apologised and said they could not offer me anything better and proceeded with the cancellation.
Was due to get cut off next week and today the phone rang. SKY offering me 50% off for another 12 Months!
Cheers SKY, you caved in before me and I got what I wanted :-)0 -
I got the same deal today when they called, 12 months half price
was gonna be spending 200 on a freesat box so jumped at the offer and in 12months the humax and Samsung boxes might be more reasonably priced0 -
I have it on good authority that Sky are trying their hardest to retain staff. Gone are the days of new customers (although I'm sure they'd love them as well!) but it's a case of trying to keep the ones they have.
I was talking about this in the pub at the weekend, especially with the court case of the pub in England showing games through a non Sky feed, and we we saying what would make us stay at Sky.
Ideas icluded once a month they'd send you vouchers for takeaways or shops to get stuff in for watching the telly. Perhaps a money back or dheaper deal at the end of your contract to stay with Sky if you've not watched enough of certain channels that you pay for.
Another idea was that if you were a Sky customer at the end of certain programmes on Sky channels they'd flash up a customers name and that person would have won prizes. Perhaps ranging from free movies to a cash prze.
Then we started watching the football again!
Any other ideas?Albert Einstein “Imagination is more important than knowledge”0 -
Just come off at 50% deal and have been offered 25% off for 12 months. I'm not having any of that, so will happily cancel until they call me and offer me a GOOD product/price or the friends and family discount is out again!0

Is that off everything (BB, Line Rental), or just TV??0 -
well i am free from sky , i rang last month and cancelled, they offered me 25% off for 6 months but its only my DS that watches it and am sure he'll get used to being without out , cant justify £19.50 for a few channels , stocking up with dvds from charity shop instead:D
if they were to tempt me back with a 50% off offer i may reconcider but for the time being i will enjoy the freedom and expense0 -
20% off, for six months, today after ringing to cancel sports which Ive only had turned back on for the past three weeks. No tie in.0

Hello there! Could do with some advice.
My mum's been a customer at Sky for around 4 years, just the basic TV package, nothing else, at £22 a month. She has one of the regular Sky boxes before Sky+ came along at a more affordable rate. I'm pretty sure she's out of contract and I wouldn't mind trying to negotiate something better for her. Could I get a Sky+ HD box for free with installation and the HD channels free for 6 months, something like that?
Also if I could get some free sports/movies channels for her then she'd be even happier.0
