I like your attitude Sessie! As I said in a previous post I cancelled sky this month and went and bought a HUMAX 500GB Freesat box off Amazon for £227. Yes it's pricey, but it's a great model and Im really impressed with it. More importantly I'm SKY FREE :T:T0

After watching daybreak on Friday morning with Martin Lewis saying if you ring to cancel sky customers could receive a free upgrade and possible half price line rental i rang sky and the advisor said that it was rubbish and i should ring daybreak and tell them so his attitude was terrible telling me they dont offer a sky + package any more yet its on the sky website iv been a loyal customer for years having a normal original box all this time so think it's time to change to either virgin or bt0

Just phoned and got free HD pack for 6 months. No min contract. Only have entertainment pack and no movies/sports or multiroom so is a 33% saving.0

I left Sky about 2 years ago.
Every month after they have sent me an offer... the best offer (still not good enough to be honest) was 1/2 price everything (not HD) and £100 free credit.
Having said that, I much prefer to watch Sky without accessing all the crap channels (you will continue to have BBC1 HD, BBC HD, ITV1 HD, CH4 HD and CH5 HD). That's why I've kept my Sky box.
Most of the channels are rubbish and, if anything good is on, it can be found on the internet within a week.0 -

Phone them and tell them you are cancelling and they will give you a better offer.
Don't mention Martin Lewis because they think you're after a better deal (which you are, but you don't have to tell them that Martin Lewis has told you how to save money - Doh)0 -
I cancelled 2 days ago. I'm at the end of a half price deal for a year and I can't afford the full price for what we have (movies and sports and entertainment package). I was a little taken back when I was put through to cancellations, put on hold for a bout 5 mins and then told "ok all cancelled"....eeek...no offers...nothing!!..I'm holding out to see if they start hounding. I cancelled last year and followed it through. We was on the basic package and the £19.50 at the time was not manageable or justifiable. Within a couple of weeks they were on the phone and then the offer leaflets started coming through the post. I held out though for over 6 months and it was only the half price for a year and that out finances improved, convinced me to go back.
I'll be honest though.....the 6 months without sky felt very liberating! Yes I missed the record/play/pause function and certain channels were missed occassionally but I got used to it very quickly and surprised myself how quickly. I'm prepared to do the same again if the offers don't start rolling in0 -

No deal tonight, however just finished a 6 month 50% off offer. Wasn't brave enough to cancel so cut out the movie package instead. :S0
