    :bdaycake:Happy Birthday Lou.x

    Taplady-hope Taplord is ok.

Cant believe all the news, its horrible, but was slightly cheered by the sight of all the people with sweeping brushes clearing up.Hope everyone stays safe.

Cool and very wet here,so not going out at all.DH picked up our new (to us) car yesterday, seems to be pleased with it,and we'll be able to fit the pram and car seat in after DGD arrives.Had a nice textchat with DS2s ex gf this morning(and she text me first :))so that was good. She got some lovely things at her babyshower, think she'll need to change outfits several times a day :rotfl:

Ordered a new bed for us online this morning, and DS1 will have our old one as its kingsize, and he's 6'6".His old one was given to us by my ex SisIL when he moved back home, she had it in her spare room and its pretty uncomfy.Going to revamp the spare room to make it more baby friendly too.

Stuff from the freezer for tea tonight, and the bm is on.
    Havegood days all xx

I understand why you would want to not go into the city centre right now, however please remember that by doing this you are denying not only yourself but also the business that you would normally support, who need their regular customers to rebuild their businesses.

Personally, I think a period of national service rather than prison would be better, to bring a routine & some discipline into lives that appear to have little of either.

    Afternoon all

I'm in the old flat doing some cleaning so using the wifi here :) it's still connected til Sat but after that won't have internet for a week, bar at work.

Loving the new flat :) and it's going well with the flatmate too! I've got this week off work but had to do some work this morning. Had to do a health and safety visit in next town, it only took half hour but I get half a day back leave for it. And I went shopping after :D.

I came to old flat to clean but realised I left 2 bits I need in new flat - doh! So I'm doing as much as I can and I'll come back tomorrow to finish off the other bits. It's not too messy thank god!

Hope you are all ok, especially those in riot affected areas

    xx

thankyou all for your concern about Taplord.:T He seems ok but has a very sore head and stiff neck. He's spent a lot of the day lying down.
He cut his head on a little metal bit in his baseball cap - unfortunately he has no hair to protect his head;) but he has a thick skull so he's ok:D

I think the milkfloat might have a dent as thats what he fell into!
    Do what you love :happyhear

    Evening all :D

Given that I rarely post on here, thank you so much to all those sending best wishes for DS :A He's fine, had a much better night last night. I think it's just the exhaustion will get to him. Of course the police can cope..........just cancel all leave and rest days, they don't mind working 12+ hours day in day out  I suppose it will all come out in the wash eventually.

    Taplady, hope DH is OK.

Best post some OS :D I have made an enormous pot of sausage puttanesca, some of which we will have tonight and the rest will be portioned for the freezer. I only have very limited freezer space but I like to have some "instant" meals to hand. This goes well over rice or a jacket potato with a nice side salad. I do have to tidy the freezer, so I should get a bit more room. Do others find just tidying the freezer, or fridge come to that, and suddenly there's half a shelf or drawer empty. It's not me that just stuffs things back anywhere, must be DH ;)

Enjoy your evenings, and hope you've had a good birthday Lou.

edit, just read your post taplady. Glad he's seems OK, but he should still be careful, knocks to the head need watching.

    Hello all,

Not the nicest day here, heavy showers interspersed with dull weather...wonderful for August!

Very few ripe blackberries here, will venture out the fields on the next fine day (?) as I would like to dry some to put in my porridge during the winter.

OH and I are off to a wedding party to-night, his niece got married with a 'family only' attendance so the rest of us are off to-night....we are the only reps from our branch and SIL is coming with us as her husband won't go...eldest BIL is in hospital with pneumonia and other lung problems so none of that branch are going, so it won't be a rowdy night, as I could sleep now will be glad to get home early....am still half expecting OH to bow out as he won't feel obliged to keep me company on journey there and back, but am going to be tough on this one and insist he goes....antisocial git!

Really feel for those who have been affected by riots...not sure what I would do with rioters (anywhere, anytime) but there would be no comfort involved for them...

very little OS here to-day, we went out for lunch on the way to see BIL....€11.95 each for 3 courses which is good value here, but an extra €2.95 each for coffee! Did buy the dog and cat food in Aldi and availed of their €.39 for cucumber.

Enjoy the rest of the day all, and stay safe
