trying to get children to behave

I don't think my OH uses wait till your father gets home. But I do know my 8 y/o DD is more scared of me than her Mum, as she told me she hates being told off by me because "you do it alot better than Mummy"

I suppose I do wear the trousers in the house, but it works for us.
At a boot sale the other day a silly man said to me " I wear the trousers in my house" turning round to look at his wife and looking pityingly at me, when I turned round and asked my OH if she thought we should buy something on his stall....
Not sure of the relevance, just had me laughing.
Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
Do you say to your children if you dont behave i will get/call your dad etc?
No I've never said that and never would.
If my children misbehave, I tell them to buck up.
If they've done something that their Dad needs to know about then I will make them tell him as I think it's important to own up and take responsibility for your actions, but not for disciplinary purposes as that will already have been dealt with."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -

I feel like sometimes - other times I'm grateful for the running commentary! He'll grow out of it
