cc99 - I totally agree with your post 100%
afterall the next week theres always another R&R so why be greedyThanks to everyone who posts comps :T0 -
i personally feel... that tescos have been cought out by their own policy... and it shows tescos in their true light about over pricing.......and now if they are changing their policy... we will just have to go to trading standards.....:D
ok they are some people that actively look for r & r me included not on a big scale.... and i never have loads ....one cd.. or dvd.... at a time....
but look at the people who have been over charged and not noticed or just had the diff back because they dont know tescos policy....
i think they done this policy to show trading standards that they are commited to sorting out the over pricing problem that they had/got as before they had this policy... people were reporting them to trading standard regularly... and they were being prosicuted...on a regular basis...
obviously things havent improved as they are now moaning at the amount of r & r's that they are doing...irelevant if its being abused.... the fact is the overpriced items are there.....so tescos havent changed their ways.....and they dont like it as word has got around via sites like mse about their refund and retain policy.... so if they monitored their prices properly.... they wouldnt have so many refunds to make... whether they are the odd one or by a someone abusing their policy...
imo it looks like tescos are acting like a spoiled child who makes the rules of the game up as they go along..... and just because they are not winning by their rules.. and being caught out .. they are now having a dicky fit and spoiling the game.......
but the thing is the game isnt over.... as they might stop their r&r policy..... what we can do as consumers is then go back to reporting to trading standards for every over-price and any price discrepencies you see on the shelfs etc.....
and then lets see how much tescos are in the paper for their over - pricing...
policies and loopholes never stays the same.... so i will be looking for their next loophole..... as there will be one... somewhere...:DWork to live= not live to work0 -
cc99 wrote:I suppose the point Im trying to make is some people on here and other websites brag that they have bought 6 Xboxs, 7 DVD boxsets, 4 mobile phones etc etc etc and if they are using the same stores time and time again no manager is going to accept the loss somtimes again and again to the same smug person, that may be the case as to why some stores are changing their policy.
I think you're missing the point here.
If the manager doesn't want to accept a huge loss on high value R+Rs, he should be ensuring that his store isn't breaking the law by overcharging on Xboxes/DVDs/Mobiles in the first place. It ain't rocket science!
If these losses are happening "again and again" in the same store, what does that tell you about the price integrity of that particular store?0 -
1st of Feb it is people and I think it is all over. At the end of the day it was greed that made this happen no if buts or maybes about it.:DYou may walk and you may run

And every time the storm and the soul wars come
You just keep on walking0 -
As far as I can remember the "and if things don't add up......" statement is also on a small sign at each checkout underneath where it states what payment cards are accepted I think.
Therefore they must surely honour the policy unless they remove every one of these signs as well as the large one behind the CS desk.0 -
1st time I have heard that the policy is changing and I work for Tesco, I am out of touch a bit since I work nights now.
Personally I am 99% sure that the policy isn't changing.
Apologies for this statement but like in any big organisation staff in Tesco talk !!!!!!!! a lot of the time.
1/2 the staff don't actually know what the policies are.
Also rumours spread like wildfire, and somebody will hear somebody else saying someing about double the difference and then within the day 90% of the staff believe the policy is changing
off course I could be wrong0
