    I've been Money Tipped!
Terrible night last night! Not just in shock from watching it on the news but spent a lot of the evening texting dd as the looters (not going to call them rioters) got to within 2 streets of where she and her dh live! Thank goodness they are ok! I feel ashamed to be british but bouyed up by the community spirit shown by groups of volunteer wombles who are out and about tidying up the mess! Really feel for those who have lost their livlihoods and homes! Lets hope the extra police will make a difference tonight!

Feel a bit lost and unable to concentrate on old style tasks but have an app foods order coming this afternoon and will have to find some room for it all. I will potter instead maybe with a duster so it looks like we care about the place! lol

i have to agree , something has to be done, i think the police are so limited in what they are allowed to do , defo bring in the army to sort it and also those who are caught ought to serve some time doing conscription

DD was in Dalston last night at bf's flat. The rioters reached there but the concierge of the block of flats callled the police - dd & bf watched the rioters being chased by the police. Apparently the police were breaking their bikes so they couldn't go anywhere else. She's promised me she'll go home early tonight. I hope it's sorted out soon.

  • Afternoon All

We just got up and went to St Albans this morning because DD wanted to have a look around, sod's law my scooter broke down half way round (Cos DH forgot to bring the battery in to charge it) so we cut our trip short, but had a good 2 hours shopping and I got a salt pig £1.49 for the kitchen and a proper high side bread pan for £3.99 so I was pleased.

We are off to Clacton for the day tomorrow just to have a day somewhere different.

The riots really are worrying - had this been the 1970's they would have had the water canons out plus tear gas and rubber bullets to break it all up, shame that the pc brigade have brought this once strong country to a jibbering shadow of itself and we are now the laughing stock of the world.
The "ganstas" bleat poverty etc , they don't know the meaning of the word (try being poor in the 60's) it is just that they want everything handed to them on a plate and not get off their useless backsides and look for work:mad:
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

    Hi,
Bitsy and Reverbe - keep calm and breathe. It sounds like the police have intelligence so hopefully they will be able to get the upper hand quickly.
Reverbe - keep posting. Are you in a block of flats on the upper floor? Surely that might afford you some protection? Or perhaps you could leave now and got to a safe place?

    Hugs xx
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
