What has happened to Great Britian? Not so great at the moment. Hope you are all safe. Can't believe the mentality of these folk. I think it's time for water cannons to be used.

Work last night was good fun strangely! Not been in for a while so good to see everyone - can't believe that I actually enjoy it!

Have stripped my bed and just about to put it on the line. Dentist this morning and then off to look for a curtain pole for my new curtains that should arrive later in the week. Didn't clear the hall yesterday, just couldn't be bothered, felt like I didn't wake up till about 3pm. Still, feel more lively today.

Have a good day everyone. Take care. XX

    Morning,
Not fun being here in London right now :(
DH has just left for our shop - in the Camden end of Hampstead. Fingers crossed the rioters didn't pass that way.
DS1 asked to stay at a mates in Muswell Hill last night and said he was going to a pub locally there so I said yes, then on Twitter at midnight there were rumours of rioters heading that way so I rang to check he was ok and he said he was at a mates in Bounds Green!! I was livid because Bounds Green isn't the nicest place to be at night anyway, but it is next to Wood Green where rioters had been before cos its next to Tottenham!!! He said he was leaving right then for the bus and I was up until gone 1am waiting for a text to say he was safely at his mates. Keeping him in tonight in case it kicks off again. Unless they announce the Army are being drafted i'm sure it will happen again tonight because the kids know the Police can't cope. Scary times.

Nice and sunny here, WM on with the first of 2 or 3 loads today. Feels a bit surreal for it to be sunny when there's so much trouble around just now. :( Saw mention on breakfast news of one family-owned store, several generations in the same family, completely destroyed and they've lost everything - the father was apparently unable to speak he was so distressed. That's what's so sickening - when the little bloke has everything taken off him by such nasty little gits - sincerely hope the army's brought in (what's left of it!) to sort 'em out!!

Got DGS for the second day - problems with his mum's work means she has to go in even though she booked the week off! Had him yesterday & will be tomorrow too. Hope it's nice so they can be chucked out into the garden! :)

TTFN - hugs & kisses to all, especially if you or yours have had trouble in London or other hotspots.

    A xxoo

P.S. Bargainbird - how do I find your alcohol link on FBK? :)

Good morning all - I`m still reeling from watching the news last night. What is happening to our great country?
I live in Birmingham but away from the centre but it`s so sad to see whats happening to our cities.
OS wise today - did some ironing when I got up. DS came back from holiday last week and I`m still catching up with his clothes.
WM on and I`m hoping to get it out on the line to dry. It`s cloudy at the moment and keeps on trying to rain. Let`s hope it keeps off.
Slow cooker will be put on shortly. Beef casserole for tea. It`s a large pack of meat so will split it and make stew and dumplings with the other half.
Will make some vegetable soup but I can`t blitz it so will have to mash it with the potato masher. My blender jug split a while ago and I haven`t got round to looking for a replacement.
    Have a good day everyone

    Morning All,

Sorry didn't get around to posting yesterday. Aunti flo is due and I just felt like I wanted to hibernate. Anway feeling much better this morning and going to have a more positive constructive day.

Belated Birthday wishes to Molly

The sun is shining so will get the washing out, have a big heavy bath mat that takes ages to dry.

Going to do a freezer dive and see what I can come up with for tea. Will not be shopping today as I dont have a car, but also need to have some NSD.

So sad what's happening with the riots, lets hope its stops very soon. I like others think the army should be brought in. I do wonder whether these young people would behave in the same way if they did national service for a couple of years after leaving school instead of hanging around the streets and signing on.

Coffee is calling, bye for now

My heart goes out to anyone who is affected by the arson, thefts and rioting. It sounds dreadful in places.

Same here. What these morons dont realise or dont care about is their actions affect the poorest.. attacking little businesses means they can ruin ppls livelihoods and attacking bigger stores may result in loss of jobs in a recession as they may never reopen. Either way if they loot from bigger stores the knockon effect will be that we all(ie decent law abiding hard working and not very well off) pay more for our goods. Etc etc etc

Morning folks OH WHAT A NIGHT!! and not in a nice sense.

These are nothing to do with social deprivation, just sheer gang thuggery. I am not going to play the racial card, as there are good and bad in all communities, but there is a gang culture in inner city areas which does need to be tackled from within their communities. Certainly if my child was of that age, he/she would be sat in the house with me, not allowed out on their own. My heart goes out to all those innocent people affected, by this and the police having the face the mobs, and all the business ruined.

It's not v politically correct to say but you do notice the social/ethnic profile of the areas involved. For whatever reason these areas have to be looked at . Something is going on..I'm not going to go making excuses cos I really dont buy the bored kids argument. I'm bored, unemployed and disaffected but I dont go out on the rob lighting fires.Find something to do. Read. Educate yourself. Take up sport, or music or something.I'm totally with you on this and my heart goes out to those genuine decent ppl affected. x
