This may be a false memory, but ISTR that GNER savers to Peterborough had far fewer time restrictions than those to London - so maybe saver to Peterborough, SDR London, CDR Poole (though you may just be too early for that)

    £22.10 SVR Don to Peterborough
    £15.50 CDR Peterborough to London
    £24.30 CDR London to Poole

£61.90, Its only £62.05 and that includes the tube travel. I am not really that keen on going via london, I just cant think of a cheaper way to get the tickets. :-(

ATM I am looking at the £54.85 SVR (With Railcard) or a eyewatering £94.00 Without a railcard!!!!!! (ouch!)

I usually do quite well, but I'm strugling to get a reasonable price for my son and I for a return on 20/05 leaving at 09:30-ish and returning on the 18:05. I looked at splitting at Stoke, Stafford and Macclesfield but no joy. I even tried downloading the program mentioned earlier. I have a family railcard, can anyone offer advice?

Can anyone help me i am looking to travel from london to glasgow for 2 passengers on the 31st May.
I have been searching for hours looking for cheap fares and have got totally frustrated with the cheapest being nearly £100.
I am a novice at travelling by train and don't know the route and would appreciate any help with this to buy split tickets?

    Thanks

I get a one-way fare of £17.50 per person on the 08:46 train from Euston that day - try https://www.nationalrail.co.uk or https://www.virgintrains.co.uk

    I need help too!

London-Harrogate (Leeds or York will do)
    Outbound: 20 May
    Return: 23 May

The cheapest I'm finding is £80rtn, which is to be expected given the short notice but I'm not travelling alone so the cheaper the better!

    Thanks

Leeds to St Pancras with Midland Mainline, dep 20 May 10:53 arrive 14:55, cost £15.50 - 1st train from Harrogate arrives at 10:30

Kings Cross to Leeds with GNER, dep 23 May 20:30 arriving 22:57, cost £11.15 - the last train to Harrogate is at 23:29

It's £5.70 each way between Leeds & Harrogate BTW
  • Fantasic prices - except they're the wrong way round

    Thanks for trying tho!

Can I request assistance in finding a cheap route for Reading - Newcastle? The Virgin site keeps reporting a technical fault and trainline gives me a single ticket price of over a hundred pounds!
Would buying the advertised London - Glasgow ticket be valid if I boarded at Reading or Oxford and got off early? Doesn't sound right to me..but not sure if it's legit?

Reading to Newcastle £102.60 Saver Return

£68 Reading to Doncaster (Saver Return)
£9.70 Doncaster to York (Cheap Day Return) after 10am
£20.50 York to Newcastle (Cheap Day Return) after 10am
    £98.20 Total

Not much of a saving but if you can split the route before reading and get a CDR and go after 10am its not too bad

Dont know anywhere near reading to split the tickets at.

    Hope This Helps

    Kev
