Too many immigrants, not enough jobs or houses.

You know what it means? I am impressed.

I thought it was someone either a) demonstrating non-native English writing skills or b) pretending to do so ;)

I'll agree with the latter not the former :D

Its not that i diasagree and think we need more just think theres no harm in taking in immigrants which the country can sustain (or should be able to)

We already have a population in excess if 60,000,000 this is only sustainable if we agree to become vegetarian and harvest seaweed.

The world population is growing at about 1,000,000,000 every 13 years.

A vision of collapsed family and social structures:

So how many of these extra 1,000,000,000 people should we invite to share our islands?

You country's future is in your hands, the choice is yours.

Racism isnt discremination of someones colour but of their race/creed/sect or group of people who are put as a collective.

Racism by definition is to do with race. Creed, sect or other grouping is not race.

Immigration it itself shouldn't generate a job shortage. While that's one more person looking for work, it's also one more person that has consumer requirements. So the country will have to produce one sixty-millionth more food, cars, energy, books, easels, toys, haircuts, etc. - which lo and behold balances out, all else being equal.

(And for those things that we don't produce ourselves but import, it doesn't change the picture - we just produce extra exports to exchange for the imported good.)

The only case where this would have a negative effect on the labour market is if the immigrant worked more than (s)he consumed - which over the long term, in the total economy is impossible, but different spending habits may result in a temporary change in balance compared to what other people may have done. (Not that that's bad in itself, either - someone who saves is sometimes considered "bad for the economy", but of course they consume the same amount in total, and produce the same amount overall, so it's irrelevant unless you're a short-termist.)

Um, how is this racist? The OP hasn't mentioned specific races and plenty of immigrants who come to the UK are white Europeans. I hate it when people use spurious charges of racism to try to crush a debate which many people are genuinely concerned about. Not because they are members of the BNP or any such cliches but because this country simply will not be able to withstand endless population increases and everyone will suffer (even the immigrants). We don't need to import people to do jobs when we already have a huge amount of British unemployed. Call me a racist if you like, I really don't care.

more often than not, immigrant are being used to define ppl from outside the EU. As with all the conservative's plan thus far, its all about limitting immigrant from outside EU where the main problem with immigration lies within EU itself. Look at most of the hospital, take a walk in one and you probably hear more Polish than English itself. Hence it feels like when David Cameron speak about immigrants, it is other coloured people from outside EU, hence normally not white....

Most people consider the term immigrant to be anyone not born in the UK. Nothing to do with colour. Not sure where you got the idea from.
