That sounds very sensible. Preservation of your own peace of mind and protecting the children has to be paramount right now.

I can understand why they want to keep the cattle for him.. as an incentive to sort himself out and so he has a job when he does.. letting that go must be like admitting he will never be able to manage it.

You've hit the nail on the pigpen. KH's brother has no interest in the farm and KH always did, seemed he'd always be the one to take over.

I've highlighted the key bit here - you know that HE has to want to change and then he has to change and it will be hard for him but you have bailed him out enough now (IMO) - and the peace you will get from not having him to worry about will be amazing. It doesn't matter HOW many people love these addicts - that love doesn't pull them out of it. Sending you lots of hugs from over the water...

I know he has to do it himself and he knows it too. I suppose i just wish it wasn't happening. I hate not being with him, we've been together since we were 17. But enough is enough and he has to stand on his own feet, i've told him about sheltered accomadation and i thinks he's happy with that.

Hi all, whew what a day, I have done some flying....hoovered hallway and living room.

Took rubbish from bathroom, cleared dining table up, DD2 tidied her room too without being asked.

However today has been marred by the news that in the early hours of this morning my daughter and her boyfriend were walking back to theirs after she had finished work at a local bar/club. DD1's boyfriend was attacked by two men, cutting a long story short, we've been in hospital all day, first hubby then me to support them both, he has a fractured eye socket where he was headbutted, kicked or stamped on in the face, DD1 is not sure which did the worst injury. DD1 wasn't attacked but was pushed over when she tried to get between the two pieces of s hi t who did this.
He's okish and has just returned home but has to have an op in a couple of weeks when the swelling goes down. He had just started a job but now can't work and frankly, he looks terrible but generally he will be ok....so tonight please just give your offspring a hug and remind them how much they mean to you.
We're lucky, this incident could have been a lot worse, I'm just glad the pair of them are still here to be honest. Police are on it, hopefully there is some CCTV of the attackers.

As a side note, I'm getting a little over familiar wth our local hospital, it's a situation I'd like to change.

Why do you have to wait? The plaster should be dry in a few days. Mine has always been decorated a week after new plaster has gone on and we never had an issue.

Oh flip Triker how awful, i hope they catch the thugs. xx

Piggers don't know, fella said to let it dry out well and that it would really need 2 weeks. I though once it changed colour i could go on ahead, he's skimmed over it twice tho so maybe that makes a difference.

    Evening all,

I've only read the last page but it looks like your having a rough time vanilla :( sending big hugs and i hope things improve soon.

Triker that's awful, hopefully the scum will be caught.

We came back from holiday this afternoon. The weather was terrible so we came home early. Despite the weather it was nice to have a break and we did enjoy it. The knot of tension inside my stomach has gone and i'm not stressing so much about moving. Although i may not be saying that when i try and declutter and pack the entire house in a week.

I've unpacked most of the stuff from holiday, i just need to put away mine and Ds2's clean clothes that we didn't get to wear. I've done 3 loads of washing and dried 2. I've sorted out the piles of clean clothes from before we went away. I've decluttered Ds1's clothes, the top of the microwave and 3 drawers in the living room. Filling 1 & 1/2 black bags of rubbish, a black bag for the charity shop, a black bag to sell & 1/2 a recycling bag. I've also ordered some packing boxes which should arrive Monday or Tuesday.
