I was speaking to TalkTalk this morning regarding their phone service and asked how the broadband was going. She said very busy and they have recently taken on a lot more staff to handle the broadband. Sounds like it was with Tesco when they first introduced broadband until the initial rush settled down.0

They said the exact same thing when I joined them on 23rd December 2004, so nothing has changed. I am glad to be rid of their poor broadband service. Their phone service is fine, when used with 18866 and 1899!It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -

They do leave it rather late to send the modem, all to do with seeing if you have changed your mind, before sending the modem out, it should arrive the day you go live, some arrive a day early, some a day or two later, plus most times you go live a day or two early!
As for unlimited, it is far from unlimited. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -

Both are down to BT.It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... My talktalk broadband was live two days ahead of schedule (transferred from BT) and I've not had a single outage, or issue with it. The modem arrived about 5 days after signing upto the service.
I download plenty of software trials, MS patches, occasional music (legal), and video clips and not heard anything about a limit to the service?.
Phone service took a bit longer, but this was as promised by TalkTalk in the setup letters - which defined when each service was scheduled to go live.
I'd happily recommend them - apart from being stuck on the old plan (£19.99 for 512), and not been allowed to move to the new service (£14.99 for 1Mbps) contrary to earlier posts. If deals change again in the future, they may lock you in for the 12 months??.0 -
Oh dear, just taken a look at the TalkTalk website, and the offer seems to have gone / finished?.0

After singing up for TT BB 3 days before the end of last month I was peeved about the price drop/speed increase and complained. They said I could have it at the new price but would have to come back to me re. the 1Meg. They never rung back.
Just spoke again to Talk Talk and they have gone back on their word and refused to let me have the service for £14.99. And guess what, despite their "strongest of efforts", they have been unable to trace a recording of the phone call when the original promise was made.
Think they have had bucket loads of complaints about this, as they even refused to let me speak to a manager on the subject.
I am not a happy bunny and seriously considering cancelling and letting them sue me for the difference.0 -
looks like the offer is back on0

There does appear to be a catch (or maybe anyway), all the prices are marked as applicable for 12 months. So what happens after 12 months?
How long is it taking people to migrate from one ISP to Talk Talk?
And can someone confirm is there is a traffic limit of not? Is it 30Gb a month? If so, then their advert on the site is definitely misrepresentative

After 12 months the price goes up to the pre-discount rate.
They will kick you off if they see you are causing network problems, this could be 50gb, 30gb or less than 15gb, it all depends on when they do a check on who is 'degrading' the network at the time.
The ASA say they have no control on what they display on their own website, and it is Trading Standards that should deal with the matter of misrepresenting. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0
